Wow, AVN supporting Piracy, that's pretty sad!
Piracy. It is quite possibly the biggest problem facing our industry today. Sure, the current state of our economy has a significant impact on our bottom line, but who can honestly say that they haven?t seen their profits slip since the dawn of the tube site? You would think that such a huge problem would be met by a unified front to combat this prolific, money-depleting scourge. However, one of the adult industry?s most influential companies is supporting this out-of-control racket. That company is AVN.
AVN, the self-proclaimed ?Industry Standard?, has licensed their well-known name out to a company called Etology.com. And because nobody knows who ?Etology? is, they gladly run part of their operation using the name ?AVN Ads? ? with AVN?s full blessing. Etology markets ad space to adult websites. So, if you?re looking to buy ad space for your site, you can sign up with AVN Ads and they?ll connect you with advertisers. For their efforts, AVN Ads takes a percentage of the deal. Sounds good, right? Sure. As long as you look over the fact that the ?Industry Standard? AVN is actually supporting piracy and copyright infringement by selling their services to advertisers who buy ad space on sites that give away your product for free. Sure, they aren?t the only ones who are doing it, but someone as well-known as AVN tacitly endorsing piracy raises this problem to a whole new level. Who is being affected by this? Well, here are a few examples complete with screen shots: There?s a site called Xhamster.com, they are a site in AVN Ads? directory: http://www.pornnewz.com/wp-content/u...1-xhamster.jpg Now here?s some screenshots from XHamster.com?s website: http://www.pornnewz.com/wp-content/u...an-lov-jen.jpg Why that looks like the Jenna Jameson / Janine lesbian scene from Vivid?s Janine Loves Jenna. *Note to self* Inform Steve Hirsch that AVN Ads is selling ad space on sites illegally carrying his copyrighted material. http://www.pornnewz.com/wp-content/u...a-int-hust.jpg Hey, here?s an entire scene from Hustler?s InTERActive title starring Tera Patrick. Oh and hey look, it?s my old friends Adult Friend Finder. I wonder if Adult Friend Finder is AVN Ads #1 customer? See the rest of the story and proof here |

We're just tired of people pulling the sheets over their head in this industry. There are those that are making money off the backs of hard working people and companies and it needs to be stopped. I'm sad for you that you want to keep things like this as the status quo. |
If you want to know how much the people in charge care about this topic, then look at who is skinning GFY today - get the picture?
Affiliate Programs have the power, because affiliates are motivated(or blinded) by the $. It's the same way politics work. They keep the affiliates competing against each other, so they dont unite and blacklist the cheaters. It will never change |

and that was my point - nothing have changed, and nothing will |
you do realize that if they are complying with the DMCA take down request
the safe harbor provision means there is no copyright infringment ergo AVN ads is not supporting piracy in any way shape or form. |
Dude, nobody gives a shit about your stupid publication.
You might as well just hire Banana Claire and Tassy Pink now then you can have the trifecta of fail right there. |

where are the torch carrying tube crusaders?
|
I called them out on this at least a year ago. They came back with the expected BS and everyone said "Yeeeaaah!" and it was business as usual.
Fact is, few care about piracy these days. :-( |
it is fucked.

Ignore the haters dude, you're obviously running a tight ship. Some people just can't handle the truth..
You'll be the Fox News of the porn industry in no time. Keep up the fine investigative journalism. :thumbsup:thumbsup |

i don't know should you be really be immune from prosecution for living of the prostitution just because you film the sex act. in every other aspect (expect for the filming) the act that happen are criminal violations of the prostitution laws. The "loop hole" that created this industry is just as legitimate as the "loop hole" that allows redtubes actions not be considered a copyright infringement. |
money > morals

what crack are you on? how the fuck can you legitimize paying people who make a living publishing content that they dont have the legal rights to? Are you out of your mind? how on earth can you compare that to honest companies that pay for their content? |

but that not the case here only thing redtube is doing is publishing content without the permission of the copyright holder. That does not mean they don't have legal right to do that the safe harbor provision of the DMCA gives them that legal right. which makes it legal. just like the supreme court case in california makes shooting porn legal. The law makes both legal what would otherwise be illegal (paying for sex) is legal given a specific condition (filming it) likewise what would otherwise be illegal (copyright infringement) is legal given a specific condition (safe harbor provision) |
ROFLCOPTER!!!1111!

Yes it sure as hell does It's like saying you are only speeding if some catches you doing it. I dont care about loopholes FACT: The Company behind Cams/aff ect. are 100% aware that those sites have publish and host content they dont have the right to, and yet they dont cancel the account or act accordingly to usual peoples moral standards - because they dont give a fuck about the rules. The only thing that matter to them is Not getting caught and making the largest amount of profit within the space they can move. Turning the blind eye to the law and moral, gives them a larger playing field. And that will never change |
Quote:
Did I say anything about what I did or what rules I played by? no My comment was on WHY the industry dont care, and WHY it wont change If you are to fucking stupid to wrap your head around that debate, then go play in the sigwhore topics. |

Many Content Producers are selling there titles over to companies to resell to webmasters for the use in tube sites. The Content reseller companies are well within our circle of community they know who they are. These guys are selling titles totally for the idea that the content will be placed in tube sites. Its not stolen content, maybe a small portion of it is and at first alot of the content was stolen but now alot of the tube sites content is licensed. Just within this year alone content companies are doing very well for themselves blowing out disc's by the hundreds for use in new free tube sites. Blame the content producers and resellers for the rash of free porn in tube sites these days. One thing for sure you can bet that companies like Twisty's, Hegre, FTV and the likes are actively protecting there content and release small amounts to tube sites. What are the results? Excellent sales with no threat of tube sites being a negative factor. Once again Exclusivity is the theme that is holding fast to players that focus thier content rather than blow it out to the free networks which do hurt everyone else. If you are an exclusive producer of content and keep on the exclusivity with quality tip you are making a mother fucking fortune right now and all of 07-08 with 6 or 7 figures showing for each year on the rise of profits. There is reason some guys drive Lambo's and others drive Toyotas. The dudes in Lambo's know how to quantify the value of thier EXCLUSIVE content to turn a profit while everyone else cries about small things called tube sites. |
Porn Newz,
whats your point with this topic? What are you trying to prove? Please enlight me. And while your flaming other peoples business (where you have no clue about) please show us some of your business. |
AlienQ your available for design work atm?????
|
PS: I am against tube sites, I think they are a stupid mechanism for generating positive cash, that makes typical programs have to work harder, but then I also think people that just buy content thats been sold time and time again for members sections and basing it within an affiliates program makes turning a profit much much much harder.
The gold is in the mountains still lots of it we got proof of it we see it every day, tons of it but most Affiliates programs do not "Get it" and need a scape goat of blame. The future is about exclusivity and harnessing exclusivity for profit. Monitizing exclusive content is the key. HARDLY ANYONE IS DOING THAT! THIS IS WHY SHAP DRIVES A MILLION DOLLAR CAR, THIS IS WHY FTV CAN BUY A LIMITED EDITION LAMBORGHINI IN ARIZONA OVER 200 MPH AND GET A SLAP ON THE WRIST FOR IT AFTER POSTING VIDEO OF IT PUBLICLY! THIS IS WHY STEVE HAS MADE MILLIONS WITH EXCLUSIVE GIRLS! DONT YOU FUCKING GET IT YET??????? Listen you fucking morons, if you are not a exclusive producer that can monitize content your FUCKED. Its as simple as that. Everyone is giving everything away for free on the tube sites snivel all you want but it does not make what you are doing right, you need to do more than just compete with free! TUBE SITES DO NOT FUCKING MATTER! so guess what you goto do? YOU FUCKING MUST LEARN TO TAKE A FUCKING PICTURE AND YOU MUST LEARN HOW TO VALUE THE CONTENT YOU HAVE IN YOUR SITES! ITS FUCKING EASY! |

The closest you've ever come to even running anything was designing for CE Cash. When was that again? 1931? You're so far out of touch, you've made a loop around earth and came back only to land on Idontknowshitville. Fuck you're a tool. Go design some galleries. |

GO learn and struggle somewhere else little fella. Adult is to hard for you and may not be your thing. What I said above is exactly right, exactly spot on you do not like the truth and obviously can not handle it. Just because you may fall into the category of failing and struggling while competing with tube sites maybe you can take what I had to say and learn from it. YOu are a pussy and coward. 21 Posts and you claim to know all about me... I can only wonder what fake nic banned loser mother fucker you are. GO die in a trench bitch. |

time for your lithium windbag. |

Say what you will, but there's a FAQ that implies terms of agreement that the tubes are not reading or ignoring and their accounts could be terminated:

the two examples specify specific conditions that turn what would otherwise be an illegal activity into a perfectly legal business. Quote:
you should be quiting soon, i will take all your sites off your hand. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh Quote:
that exactly the right they get when they comply with the DMCA take down request procedure Just like the court ruling in california changed what was original criminal act into a perfectly legal business. I am sure the religious right was plenty upset with that ruling, but the law made producing porn a legitimate business. And the Safe harbor provision does the exact same thing for tube sites. |
