So what's up now with those Somali Pirates, they have hijacked 32 Ships now...

And asking for 250M to release that Saudi Supertanker?!?

Are our western governments really such pussies that we can't get rid of a few Pirates?
At least the Indians acted quickly and sunk one of their ships as the Pirates opened fire on one of their Destroyers (brilliant idea BTW :1orglaugh )

chupachups 11-19-2008 10:24 AM

Yeah - f-ck them really. They should fly in a few more helicopters to chase them away - it has been proven efficient.

EscortBiz 11-19-2008 10:27 AM

ummm who do you think will buy the tanker off the pirates for 10 mil? good old motherly love Russia or USA maybe using a domain name with BS whois info

TeenCat 11-19-2008 10:28 AM

32 is my lucky number so maybe it will stop now ... ? :) anyway i dont understand whats the problem, that they will start shooting prisoners? i really dont know ... if every cat and dog has chip with connection to satelite, navy and army must know where are the ships now, so whats so hard to get there and take the ships back? sorry if its so stupid question but i really dont understand how today pirates can be so active ...

crockett 11-19-2008 10:29 AM

The Saudi's claim to have sunk a pirate "mother ship" this morning.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7737797.stm

However if you think about the more imporant impact, according to the church of the flying spaghetti monster.. The decline of pirates over the years is responsible for global warming and as we have noticed the trend in global warming has slowed down recently along with a re-emergence of pirates.

This should prove the theory correct I'd say because there are clearly more pirates roaming the seas by these news reports and global warming has also declined. Coincidence? I think not.

Domain What?

Well, I guess the Saudis are the ones who'd have to pay to get their Tanker back, but it's embarassing for the western countries that something like that can even happen. The Naval Forces are there already, would be time that they put the Hammer down...

DAMNMAN 11-19-2008 10:36 AM

The Saudi's should put together an invasion force and wipe them out, either that or just use the protected shipping channels patroled by the US. Whatever's easiest!!!!!

I don't see why they just can't kill the motherfuckers as their ship approaches.

Tom_PM 11-19-2008 11:02 AM

On MSNBC tv this morning they said most "pirate ships" are 15 footers with an outboard motor and the anchor wondered aloud why the big ships dont just run them over, lol.

Probably because they are carrying RPG's that would easily put a hole in the side of a big ship.

the approaching pirate ship contains dark individuals with rocket launchers, the tankers have crews that are mostly amrned with their cocks

mynameisjim 11-19-2008 11:39 AM

A recent article said no country wants to be seene as the top cop of international waters so they don't want to step in to secure the shipping lanes and then be stuck with that job forever.

Private security seems like a good business to start. Protecting ships with 100 million in cargo each, you only need a tiny percentage from each to make a killing.

Nothing that a .50 caliber on each ship would solve this problem.

$5,000 worth of firepower would keep these multi-million dollar shipments safe.

bronco67 11-19-2008 11:52 AM

We need to get some Delta Force death squads out there and start pulling over these pirate boats. If they have AK's on board, massacre the whole fucking boat full.

<sarcasm>

Oh no, you can't do that, poor Pirates could get hurt. We should rather talk with them, and ask nicely if they just can't stop hijacking our ships, let's seek for a diplomatic solution

BTW, Somalia, what kind of activity will be funded with all that money, what do you guys think?

I think there are international laws that keep them from arming these vessels.. :2 cents:

abadfish 11-19-2008 01:31 PM

I've been wondering this myself... Seems far too easy for these pirates to operate. Until a few months ago I didn't even think pirates still existed.

I still don't understand why Russia doesn't blow the shit from Somali and it's ocean regions.

How hard can it be to locate 32 ships? You have satelites and radars, go kick their asses.

Rochard 11-19-2008 04:04 PM

Well, aren't we all so glad the US forces left Somalia??? The entire country has gone to shit and no one is doing anything about it. In the mean time, their population lives without an effective government and lives in fear while they go hungry.

Now imagine the first black US President invading Africa..... LOL!

lagcam 11-19-2008 04:19 PM

I think most of the countries who could resolve this issue easily would be more interested in getting that oil cheap from the somalis than paying full price to the Saudis (even not knowing what the money would end up being used for)

Not right but simple economics in a fucked up world.

and HEHEHEHE good point Rochard !

spacedog 11-19-2008 05:13 PM

Yeah, only problem is that they just spend the money for their own luxury. Of course people are happy that at least someone is bringing money to the country, but it's not like the pirates are giving it to the poor or something like that.

And in corrupt systems money is often used to "buy" people and therefore power...

JFK 11-20-2008 06:23 AM

I just wonder how do they actually get paid ? I mean they cant really accept a wire transfer:1orglaugh

"And when the payday comes, the money sometimes literally falls from the sky.

Pirates say the ransom arrives in burlap sacks, sometimes dropped from buzzing helicopters, or in waterproof suitcases loaded onto tiny skiffs in the roiling, shark-infested sea.

"The oldest man on the ship always takes the responsibility of collecting the money, because we see it as very risky, and he gets some extra payment for his service later," Aden Yusuf, a pirate in Eyl, told AP over VHF radio.

The pirates use money-counting machines ? the same technology seen at foreign exchange bureaus worldwide ? to ensure the cash is real. All payments are done in cash because Somalia, a failed state, has no functioning banking system. "

Still probably helps the average person there more than any IMF loan or humanitarian aid would. I'm not siding with the pirates... just sayin'...

justsexxx 11-20-2008 09:45 AM

I don't get it either. They know the location of the hyacked ship(s) Send some of the best miltary teams there by ship/helicopter, and kill those mofo's.
