sperbonzo 11-17-2008 09:58 PM

that was a definite ouchie....

...and the QB did NOT look good...

...but they still aren't as bad as the Lions this year... :)

BusterBunny 11-17-2008 09:59 PM

Looked like they were going to run away with the AFC East there for awhile, while the Jets looked like idiots trading for Favre.

How quickly fortunes change in the NFL (which stands for Not For Long)

i think Edwards when he got the concussion a month or so ago came back, played one good game on adrenalin against San Diego and since then has been a shell of himself - i think he may not be telling anybody about lingering effects of his concussion. as a Bills fan i hope that's what's happened. if not - we have no QB of the present or future - the Bills have rolled snake eyes trying to get a decent starting QB, gave Rob Johnson years to prove he was a failure, JP Losman the same - and now Trent Edwards. I think Edwards is the real deal - but he just cost them a chance to make the playoffs for the first time in a decase though.

doomed city - doomed franchise.

Once my Dolphins beat them it was all downhill from there....

The Rob Johnson thing was a big mistake. I never understood why they didn't just let Flutie have the job permanently.
All the guy did was win football games. Instead, all the guys in the front office are only worried about finding a guy who's 6' 5".

You are experiencing the curse of Flutie. :winkwink:

As a Dolphins fan, I don't want to hear anyone whining about how hard it is to find a quarterback.

Ahhh my bills... So painful to watch

stickyfingerz 11-18-2008 09:45 AM

Having grown up next to a Buffalo farm, and not a football fan, my first thought was them and extinction. lol :1orglaugh

candyflip 11-18-2008 12:45 PM

I jinxed them by saying a few weeks back that if anyone could blow a record like they had, and not make the playoffs...it would be my Bills.

justinsain 11-18-2008 02:18 PM

Watch out people the Dolphins are swimming up stream :thumbsup

StickyGreen 11-18-2008 02:43 PM

Dolphins are so overrated, they could barely handle the Raiders at home...

Brett is the best QB in history.... he'll take his lumps and come back for more. the Pack were certainly looking smart for a little while but now did you see Terry Bradshaw on fired up? Brett's the man and the pack would be challenging the Giants for best team in the league if only they still had Brett. Praise rodgers for playing it safe all you want but he also isn't digging down and coming up with big time plays.

How long does it take a franchise to realize that to win in the NFL you MUST have a Pro Bowl level quarterback that knows how to WIN.

The Lions and the Bills better hope that next year's draft has someone with Matt Ryan's potential... I'm just sayin' :pimp

I didn't think they were even good enough to be rated but after last seasons performance
and with them now in the playoff hunt, especially with an easy schedule left, it at least gives me something to watch
since NASCAR just finished up it's season. Which BTW I know is also overrated :upsidedow

Lukily there's 3 or more in the Big12 this year alone... My bet is the Lions go with the Oklahoma QB because he's considered the best prospect.

VeriSexy 11-18-2008 04:00 PM

They need a new QB

A win is a win. A team that was 1-15 last year could hardly be overrated. Nobody noticed them until very recently even after they beat the Patriots and Bills.

The Pats were blowing people out last year while the Giants were just scraping by. Who went home with the ring in January. (I'm not saying my Dolphins are at the level the Giants are because they're not, I'm just saying you don't have to blow people out to be for real. Being able to win a close game is key)

Brett Favre is the best QB in history? Put the crack pipe down.

Favre, Rodgers, and Pennington have practically the exact same QB rating right now.

My point in the discussion was that the Jets traded for Favre, had to give something up, and just let Pennington walk. So far, Pennington has been just as good if not better than Favre (and is a good bit younger)....and my Dolphins got him for nothing.
So I'm very happy about the deal.

Overrated isn't the right word. The word you're looking for is "unproven". They were a losing team that is now winning some games, no more - no less.

Lenny -- you say you're happy with the pennington deal, but wasn't it you (or was it other dolphins fans on here?) who back at the start of the season were all groaning about him and not expecting much? I'm sure I saw posts to that effect.

Anyway, it's nice to see that once prestigious franchise showing some life. I'm hoping the Niners do likewise and catch fire soon too.
