How do you "manage your focus" across a blog network?

Speaking as a one man operation and not a team, obviously.

My network is getting to be a little too much to handle. All handwritten posts, no RSS feeds (not even morphing or re-writing), manual links trading, designing, customizing, coding blah blah blah. I do the whole kit & kaboodle. I place most of my focus on my money makers. But this comes at the expense of other blogs that have potential and could be money makers as well if I had more hours in the day or grew an extra set of hands.

I try to justify that neglect with the notion that some of these blogs are new and they aren't gonna get much SE love for a while anyway, so they can wait and "age". But I know that this is just an excuse, and it'd be that much better if they were full of posts when an SE got ahold of em.

So, for those who have several blogs and are able to "spread the love" evenly, how do you do it? I find myself just concentrating on a particular blog for a whole day and post dating updates,, and then moving on the next day. But with my network increasing, that method ain't working anymore.

hire slaves for the monkey work

I assign certain blogs priority for certain days of the week, they get the attention those days, and the others get what attention is left that day.

I have a big heart so my love is spread evenly across my sites :)

but just between u and me .. . the first site I ever created still gets a bigger love portion... iykwim...

Very few people (who post on this board, anyway) write their own quality posts so they probably have an easier job of managing their time and maintaining multiple blogs. If you really can't do it all yourself but prefer to maintain control over everything, then maybe the only solution is to prioritize everything by what you enjoy the most and want to do most at that moment. If your posts are unique, genuine and carefully optimized to make money, then everything else will fall into place. As long as you can accept that it won't all be perfect and some stuff will be undone or neglected sometimes, then just do what you love today.

if your time management is maximized you might have to look at automation or outsourcing - there are only so many hours in the day.

It's all about keeping categories tightly reined in. For my latest 800 blog network, I only focus on 4 categories.

I'll be watching this thread closely as I'm doing the same thing with my blog network I have three blogs and mostly put all my days work into one usually.

I do a blog post on 25+ blogs per day + add to that adding a few galleries per day to network of tgp + look for link trades + build galleries + manage trades + check stats for dozens of sponsors + answer icqs + answer emails + post on GFy + answering phone + stopping few times a day to play with daughter or wife and to eat, piss or shit..sometimes sex + posting on couple mainstream forums I frequent + sometimes building new sites + a bunch of other shit...

I don't know.. I just work and work and work and work and for some reason I am never finished... Awhile ago I only had one site, now I have, fuck.. 100 something plus, but for some reason I am not done yet.. Maybe I should stop at 200 and take a fucking vacation

even 800 blogs in ONE category i can't see how it could possibly be all handwritten, with no neglected ones, and SEO friendly across the board. please explain...

i dont do anything the same every day, i used to write posts for some blogs, but i hate grunt work so its all (semi) automatic now

InternetIsForPorn 11-17-2008 03:59 AM

I'd highly suggest you make a deal with someone (even ME) to provide you with high quality handwritten SEO content and focus on the marketing itself.

But on the topic, you don't "manage your focus". The way I work is that "today I feel like writing in this one" - that way the content doesn't feel forced. Readers would rather enjoy 1 QUALITY post per week, than crap every day. Always bid on quality and not quantity.

Inbetween manual posts, just put up some RSS feeds on there and manually approve 1-2 quality rss fed posts per day to keep the readers entertained.

Works for me at least.

this is kind of close to what i do as well. i was smart enough to only make blogs about stuff that i like myself (a la big boobs, big butts, chubby teens, etc), so i kind of let my cock decide which site is gonna get worked on, in addition to my money makers.

i always seem to entertain the idea of tossing in some RSS but i just fear that even if i morphed or completely re-wrote the text, the SE's would still be able to detect it (maybe by seeing similar hot linked images or something like that). and if i circumvent that aspect... well then i'm technically handwriting anyway. perhaps i'm wrong on the SE detection of RSS feeds though

i wil take into consideration dishing out some of the writing duties if/when it gets to be too much. you included :thumbsup

I myself run six blogs, five of which are updated daily and one of which is updated whenever I can. Check them out at http://www.rochardsbunnyranch.com/blog/trades.

I do this part time after hours on my own time. At the beginning of the month I write in all of them for the next month, and once that is all caught up then I spend time on improving them. Most of my blogs are rather new so right now I'm concentrating on getting traffic to them.

Currently the five daily blogs are updated until the end of the year.

It's not hard staying motivated because I'm making some decent money from the blogs....

Not so much a pornographer, that's a webmaster. Porn is just the content matter.

Webmasters work the hardest.
