Any plug-ins for WP that do this..

I need a plug in for affiliate links for wordpress.. I'd like to be able to enter in my affiliate code and then just link to something like /go.php/mysponsor

Is there any sort of plug ins that do that?

make sure you ask the program if they allow that. Some dont allow that, since it can be misused by spammers

Really? I do that with all of my links and have never known a sponsor not to accept the traffic. Do you know of any for sure that would say no?

which one do you like better? Can you make a database of sites with them. As in just add a bunch of links and add them as you please. Or is it on a per post basis?

wp affiliate

I haven't used either of those yet, but I might install Go Codes and try it. I've been doing it with a script I wrote but I think I like the way Go Codes approaches it and it looks simple enough to implement. It works universally and not per post.

Multiplied by dozens of sponsors. Can you just name 1 sponsor that doesn't allow it? Just 1?

Yea I'll have to look into that.. I've seen a lot of other legit webmasters using this type of method but I'll check to be sure.

I cant remember them all, because its about 4 years or so since I had that need, and I dont know if that is still the policy of the programs. CCbill was one of them

The reason I came across it, was with the Affiliateprogram-review site I did on Joe's domain. We had a script that split the clicks 50/50 between us and the affiliate.

We had to reprogram it so it would rotate the specific links, instead of sending the clicks to a redirectto.php?id=xxxxxx link.

I would not had wasted money on that unless it was necessary

teg0 11-16-2008 09:40 AM

you don't really need a wp plugin to do that. simple php and mod_rewrite and you're set.

Brujah 11-16-2008 09:43 AM

Do you know if that was a CCBill policy, or one of the CCBill sponsors policies? I would have to drop them unless I was making some serious cash with them if I couldn't do this. I count my own clicks this way too.

I dont know if it was a official policy or not, but it was the reply they gave me when I asked them. I emailed them because I knew it could be a tracking issue.

support [-a-] ccbill.com can give you a updated answer. Im sure a lot of things have happened over the years in ther script

You know, it seems like it would especially affect TGPs and anyone using trade scripts. Hopefully, no one really cares about a /go.php/ type redirect today.

fris 11-16-2008 10:17 AM

i will be posting some affiliate plugin options, on my wordpress plugin blog in the next few days

xsabn 11-16-2008 10:21 AM

True, and good point

KillerK 11-16-2008 10:12 PM

Any sponsor program that doesn't allow this should not be promoted. That means they don't want you to count your clicks .....
