Spam dying down the past few days?
 

I usually get 2000+ spam letters per day in my Microsoft Outlook, to all my domain accounts, but the past two days only a couple of dozen are showing up in my junk filter. Anybody else noticing a reduction?

On the serious note I am seeing less spam the last couple of days too.

maybe it has something to do with the wait for obama?? prez for life...

still getting 500+Mb of spam a day.

i blame tube. maybe cross-sales .........

Two things happened... est domains got their registrar status revoked.. (dunno if this had any affect) and a major spam host got shut down. Rest assured the spam will be back soon.

I wonder why the hell it takes these people so long to figure out whom to shut down?
I really enjoy no spam time, because all my work emails were getting around 200-300 emails per day and the fucked up thing is that good emails often go into spam folder, so whether you want it or not, you have to manualy look through this spam.

they shut down that shady registrar and hosting company that was resposible for the 55million spams per day. look for the estdomains thread for more info

I have also noticed a reduce in the spam to my gmail spam box.

I don't see any decrease.

there is an article about a webhost 'Mccolo' that was hosting 65% of the spammers. It was shut down last week. That was the story.

Im still getting spam.

I'm getting less than half the spam I was getting just a few weeks ago.

i will host all the spammers now.

It's amazing how much spam came from one source...

Probably gone down for some but certainly gone up for me. Two days ago, I accidentally opened an email with japanese characters on the subject line, lo and behold, opened my mailbox and had almost 100 emails with japanese characters on the subject line!!!

I'm still getting spam from ACAI every day.

If it died down due to some filtering tech, it will go back up. Spam and spam detection is an arms race. Almost Darwinian in its 'survival of the technologically fittest' sense.
