!?!?!Sextracker-WTF is the point?

For years i've had sextracker counters on all my free sites. I've also known for years that sextracker was unreliable for accurate stats. And aside from that, I cant see how they are of any use to me at all.
So I'm wondering why do I bother with the program anymore?
Anyone still using them? if so why?

You only use sextracker if you have a site with a lot of traffic. So you have an outside source to give validity to your traffic numbers, when you try to sell some ad spots etc etc.


Other than that, it’s totally useless and a traffic leak.

I only keep mine up for historical purposes....It's been up there since day one....I have an invisible tracker so that I can get real stats.

Same here, I use stat counter and AWstats to get the real numbers. Its just been a part of my sites for so long that I never give them any thought, but I have gotten to the point that I see no benifit to using them except to have my site appear on their little list, and that is worth shit to me. I've received (according to AW) 11 hits from them this month but I have sent them way more.

..........im really coming around to just saying fuck em' They dont do shit but suck up my traffic and I don't get shit out of the deal. Thats just dumb.:Oh crap

Yeah you pretty much nailed it... I think there are much better free tools out there to gauge traffic (alexa/Compete/Google). But some of the old school guys are much more familiar and comfortable with Sextracker so they like it for reference.

I used to have them on my sites, now they aren't on any of them. There's just no point, as you stated! At least not to me.

Why use external trackers at all, I nly take a look at my trade scripts, I even have server stats and logging turned off, to save resources....

why give them free clicks for shitty stats?

Google is free

I use both to compare numbers.

SexTracker is very high.

Google is half the traffic.
