Ethics Code for Obama's Administration
 

It's been said that a new set of Ethics will be used to appoint individuals to the Obama's administration. They seam to be looking at relatives, not just the individual that will be holding the post.

Anyone have any clue what those Ethics rules will be?

• Federal lobbyists cannot contribute financially to the transition.
• Federal lobbyists are prohibited from any lobbying during their work with the transition.
• If someone has lobbied in the last 12 months, they are prohibited from working in the fields of policy on which they lobbied.
• If someone becomes a lobbyist after working on the Transition, they are prohibited from lobbying the Administration for 12 months on matters on which they worked.
• A gift ban that is aggressive in reducing the influence of special interests.

I haven't heard anything about the relatives, but to a degree that would make sense. If the deputy chief of staff's wife is a lobbyist, that could turn into a problem.

I hope they follow through and enforce this.

How about people who HAVE BEEN lobbied?

I was lobbied on a visit to DC while I was buying a damn hotdog, so I do not think this is even possible.

Thats my point. It is all smoke and mirrors. I am glad he is not allowing lobbyists but it really does not matter. Everyone in Washington owes someone a favor.

He's just not allowing hardcore one sided people to be on top of things. People that take it in the ass from one guy to be able to suck the dick of the other guy.
