youtube to start showing full length movies
Hollywood is warming up to the Internet?s top video site. On Monday, YouTube will announce an ad-revenue sharing deal with MGM - home of James Bond, the Pink Panther and Rocky - that will let the site show full-length movies for the first time from a major Hollywood studio. Jordan Hoffner, YouTube?s head of content partnerships, called the agreement a ?watershed moment? for the company: ?We are really happy about MGM. They have an incredible library.? It?s easy to understand why YouTube is excited.
Founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen want the site to be more than just a destination for clips of skateboarding dogs, experiments involving Mentos and Diet Coke and the occasional Simpson episode that needs to be taken down immediately because of copyright infringement |

They didn't mention if it would be free to the consumer though. Would surfers have to pay to watch their video library?

YOu got no fucking brains... Why am I even responding to you? I want my 30 seconds back asshole. |
Don't expect any new releases. They will just unload tired crap from their "library" that already plays on regular TV at 4 a.m.

WARIDIOT - Anyone with a TEV site can see the future and some are getting on to it.
Basically people pay a premium monthly pay for upgraded services, in some cases if not a subscribed member previews can be made and the surfer can then order the movie in VOD. Of course for mainstream the monthly free is cheap and banners will still be shown for ad revenue... YOu really think MGM is going to say oh yeah Youtube go ahead take the movies and put em in there and we can charge the advertiser's enough money to make our movies free on your site to make up for it? LOL! IDIOT! No wonder you own or try to own or try and run a single program... Yer to stupid for this biz. Move on. |

You know that youtube already has Ad Revenue Sharing deals with producers, right? This is just the first major one. Ad revenue sharing means they share the revenue generated by ads. It doesn't say subscription revenue sharing deal, now does it? They're going to release old titles, not brand new shit. |

I'm sure AlienQ knows best though, I mean he's not just another failed designer, he's the original designer failure. |

I'll keep this thread book marked though because it's yet another paving stone on your path of shame and failure. |
this will be free. it is a similar rev model that hulu, veoh etc. have with the major studios and networks. logical sense with the amount of traffic to do an ad rev share
eg. hulu's partnership with bravo and fox if it was a paid model it would look like netflix with newer movies and shows |

on the subject - with the TV package I have there's a MGM channel which is 100% free, all the movies are quite old of course, not black and white old but still old, I'm sure it'll be the same deal with youtube |
