I think the point was that your guitar is out of tune, and it's not what Tune you're playing in, it's what Key. With the amount of distortion you have on there, a 2 year old could jump up and down on your guitar and it would sound the same.

For those of you that want a technical analysis of what I did there.

The guitar is tuned Drop D. As far as the Key goes, its improve, lighten up, I make use of the Pentatonic Scale ( which is a stable of blues/Rock and Metal ) in the scales Pentonic A Major and Pentatonic A Minor. I tend to like Major scales though they tend to give me results I like. I also like D Dorian and contrasting it with C Lydian.

Lydian and Dorean are violent together it makes for alot of pain and anguish when woven. Many major Metal Guitarists do this, infact most real guitarists dont give a shit what it is, if it sounds OK it's good enough, we leave the dumbshits behind to try and figure out what the fuck they heard.

The above is by no means a technical masterpiece its an Improv for fucks sakes.

But I know some of you would rather die than give any credit to anyone or anything in life so what you think does not matter.

I've gotten bottled in LA to the shoulder and I have had people tell me its the best shit they heard in a long time. Both and the same to me. I just do what I think sounds good. After all it's me talking through the fucking thing why do I want to talk like someone else when expressing myself?

PS: THe Ibanez. I like Ibanez I really do I just have a problem with them not giving me a raw sound. I like grizzly tones and Ibanez really did not do that for me. Maybe it's the rigs being used with the Ibanez that I just messed around with. Ibanez has really a perfect sound tones out of it are very precise which is probably why I am not into them.

Put it through a Marshal and ya sound like everyone else:( Even though Marshal has one of the best sounds and most major guys run around with em. It's ironic in a way.

Whats really Ironic is some guys that are in the pro's just put Marshals upfront and its not what they are actually playing through. Dave Mustane comes to mind about this because behind those marshal's ya see on stage he is running through Line 6.

One can say that some people look for gear first to determine if what they hearing is good LOL:) I play through a ROland JC120 with a simple DS 1 Distortion pedal. SO the crunch is doubled. THe Distortion on the Roland about 1/2 way and the DS 1 3/4's.

I need to be honest here.. First, your bends are very sloppy, the notes you are using do not go with each other and sounds very out of tune. You need to learn what scales/modes etc.. go together.. No trying to diss you. just stating what I think when listening to you play. just sounds very sloppy and all over the place. Improvising is all good, but whatever you are making up should at least sound like something other than a mess.

take the time to learn these modes and how to use them together.

Dorian Mode
Phrygian Mode
Lydian Mode
Mixolydian Mode
Aeolian Mode
Locrian Mode

And work on your string bending.

for the records: i can't play guitar if my life depended on it. but i have been working behind mixing consoles for about 10 years - live and in studios - and financed school and studying with that. and i hear when something is not in tune. that's not a judgement about you musical abilities, it's just a statement ;)

I have more guitars and more amps not in that pic. I think I've shown you the others. But that spidervalve amp does pretty much anything I want, and the Pod X3 Live in my office covers anything that the big amp can do, plus has line out direct to my computer for recording.

Maybe you should reconsider that notion.

People that play expertly and professionaly often know the fuck all nothing about modes and careless about them. Theory is for morons that tend to be non creative with exception of a few who happen to have both Talent and creativity.
You get to a point where you feel nothing you do on a guitar is right if you follow theory to close.

I put the book down on theory alot of the time they make for great references on occasion but theory is not the end all be all. If Yngway had half a brain on theory he would have said something more potent than studying modes to play better.

ALot of guys just talk that shit and really got no idea what they are saying.

Well I can tell you right now the Guitar is not expertly tuned and yeah after crashing the tone with double distortion I do not think Mozart could identify the tuning of the thing:1orglaugh

I dropped the Low E to the D thats it. And that D is probably not a D that is tuned to E.:1orglaugh If I jam with someone and they got a base I say hand it over pluck the string and then tune the rest of what I got to what they had.

As long as the combined instrumentation comes together in Tune its all good to avoid seriously fucked up noise.

Few guitarist's actually ever agree on what is a proper bend vs a wrong one and why they are done in the first place. Vibrato's are all different to and not all guitarist do a vibrato exactly like someone else.

GUitar presents an opportunity for someone to express themselves yet most guitarists choose to express other's peoples works rather than looking inward to tell thier own story.

You can say oh yeah the bend to a 1/2 or full step to the string below to fake your way on a note is the only way to bend and thats patently false. Thats not why people bend strings when playing 100% of the time.

If you bend good you know you can bend where ever you want to and pick up the bend somewhere else on the fret board. I know where those spots are.

Infact in my Miserable little stunt above I bend a shit load and its not all for the sake of reaching somewhere else on the fret board but it's in there and I do it by habit.
