I want to move one of my servers to them, but not sure if they are any good. Any opinions?

Yep heard of them, if I remember correct my little brother used them a while back. Wasn't too good I guess otherwise he wouldnt have moved.

Don't use them. They have a freehost xtac.com and they fucked over a lot of people using it. All traffic to freehosted sites are now redirected to sponsors.

I have been using Choopa for over a year and without a doubt I can say they are the best hosting company HANDS DOWN!

Story with the freehost.

We stopped accepting new members months ago, and the thing was slowly dying off (as I wanted to just let it die on its own over the next 12-18 months as people stopped using it).

The problem that happened was our fault because there was a bug in our adduser code that allowed someone to hack the server. Some asshole deleted /home/sites/* and redirected 404 to his/her intergal account. We have the information regarding how he got in and the intergal information and its been forwarded onto the appropriate persons.

Anyhow, someone ICQ'd me saying his site was 404'n, and the second i logged into the machine i saw what happened and shut the server down. It hasn't responded to http request in weeks, it simply times out.

Cool. I don't use freehosts but I had visited several sites hosted with xtac.com

They were doing a lot of traffic when I noticed they were all 404'd all of a sudden. That's when I saw the xtac ranking on Sextracker sharply decline also.

Hackers, unreliability. That's why I don't use freehosts. I suppose one can't expect more from something free.

Choopa is absolutely horrible. I had one of my servers there and moved it over to candid.
