700 Billion bailout my ass... Try 2.7 Trillion and counting..

What a fucking joke this country is.. Since when did the govt decide that they can loan whatever they want to whomever they want with no oversight and no transparency..

If people in this country don't wake up soon, we're going to wake up one day as slaves..

as predicted, theyve begin weeping for the poor automakers.

awww, you guys (auto industry) didnt want to change technology and killed electric cars, now you need a bailout too? you sat back and made Hummers while the Japanese made fuel efficient cars and now youre fucked?

too bad!

LOL

Sands 11-10-2008 07:10 AM

Pretty sickening.

Also, I forgot to get in touch with you this weekend. Going to be around today?

And the airlines are also looking for a bailout. How many times have we bailed these idiots out and all they have been successful in doing, is providing horrific customer service, delay in flights, lost luggage, high prices and running their companies into the ground.

When I fall down, no one picks me up. It is time for these groups to pay the price and fail.
I think everyone should have received a bailout, that would have stimulated the economy more than this crap that is going on now.

The 700 billion was just a blanket lie. They knew it was going to be more

SilentKnight 11-10-2008 07:25 AM

This comes as a real surprise.

Bush and his Republican cronies have always been up-front and honest with the American people.

I'm shocked.

(PS - I won that bet) :1orglaugh

Shaze 11-10-2008 07:28 AM

they can give out more than what was stated in the bailout that was passed in Congress? shouldn't they have to pass another bill in Congress to give out more money?

B2BwithJoeD 11-10-2008 07:44 AM

Europeans Billing Europe!

Another $40 BILLION going to AIG - they have to pay year-end bonuses you know - and I see as many Democratic hands in your pockets as Republican hands...

IllTestYourGirls 11-10-2008 07:46 AM

Ron Paul and Peter Schiff have been saying the bail out would cost more that 5 TRILLION to untold trillions. Hyperinflation here we come.

Congress has given up its right to COIN money. They handed it to the Fed. The fed can print as much as they want when they want.

They are also laying off people, but take note that the CEO did not get a pay cut and still gets his bonuses from last year.

OK, your points are about GM, now how about Ford/Chrysler? The real problem behind the big 3's cash collapse is bad union deals. I'm not going to flame the unions in this but the fact is they not only way overpay the hourly workforce BUT they get stuck paying way too much for retired workers who refuse to die. MANY of those old people drank and smoked their entire lives and have been pulling serious money out of the auto makers for for benefits they're entitled to from old/dumb deals.

GM has a nice product lineup while Ford for the most part has been pretty clueless. Every foreign automaker makes a killing on the SMALL/cheap cars. Due to the union deals the big 3 have they're lucky to break even when they sell things like a focus.

Chrysler has the mini-van and the badass 300. The RAM was the best truck for a while but I think GM probably caught up and passed them when they got their diesel act together not too long ago. Poor Ford had the slowest worst handling truck for quite a while after having the best truck for YEARS Whats killing chrysler? inexcusably bad gas mileage and subpar transmissions. Lifetime warranties should have helped that BUT now when those same shitty transmissions go out Chrysler will be paying on the backend to repair them.

I'm an old Ford Fan and have owned quite a few 60's/70's Fords including the '68 Mustang in my garage... Todays Ford is clueless and the Ford Family can't run anything properly these days. Detroit Lions anybody? If the Ford brand is going to pull through everybody with the Ford last name needs to be tossed out on their asses.

the Dems now hold all of the power. You can't blame this on either party. You can simply blame every last POLITICIAN since they are all owned by the big corporations which are the ones asking for this money. Of those bailouts you can BET a nice chunk of it ends up as campaign contributions.

not a single person i've talked with about this thinks that way, but hey, i live in the u.s. so my info is probably not as reliable as what you are getting from the internets/media.

either way, we had to elect someone as president so your post is ridiculous on more than one level.

Here is what they are doing with the money. They do not need help. These people are fucking thieving crooks and the government is just as crooked as they are for allowing this
Link to story below; http://www.financialpost.com/most_po...html?id=866284

Invoices obtained by Mr. Waxman's committee showed that AIG spent US$139,375.30 on rooms, US$147,301.71 for "banquets," and US$1,488 at the resort's Vogue Salon, which offers manicures, pedicures and hairstyling. The group spent US$6,939.09 on golf, US$2,949 for gratuities, US$5,016.32 at the StoneHill Tavern and US$3,064.71 for in-room dining and the lobby lounge.

The group booked the resort's 3,100-square-foot Presidential Suite for US$1,600 a night for five nights, a discount from the standard rate of US$3,200 a night, a hotel document released by the committee showed. It also paid US$1,075 in "no-show fees."

The joke's on the country - and all the politicians and ginormous businesses are in on it. What a lovely place to live!

aico 11-10-2008 11:36 AM

No offense, but, what are you going to do about it? What is anyone going to do about it? The reason this gov't does the shit it does is very simple, because it gets away with it every time, and no ones does shit.

Television is this Gov'ts biggest asset. As long as people have TV shows to watch, no one will give a shit.

Agreed Scott. I know a ton of Obama lovers and not one thinks anything is going to be easy or magically "change" overnight. What I've heard is a JFK-like call for self sacrifice and responsibility and people seem to understand that. We're in a world of shit and its going to take a lot of work to get out of it.

Their lineup sucks for the average consumer. What people want is good gas mileage in their cars. We consider cars that get 25 mpg a good car. This is the same MPG we were getting 25-30 years ago.

People can blame unions, but the products the auto makers are putting out suck. They spent their time building heated seats, dvd players, and other ridiculous features that no one really needs. They ignored the fact that if they had a car on the market that could get 75 mpg, it would be sold out.

Car companies sat on their asses for the last 30 years. They haven't improved cars much at all. If they want to make money, offer the public something they don't have already.

I dont know about all that stuff, all I know is I want an electric car, theyve been around for a very long time, and theres only one reason we dont have them. The automakers have stopped their production, and not due to lack of consumer interest.

Some of you people are really silly, the banks have trillions of dollars they havent gone bust they never will go bust. The New World Order plans are to own the banks - they want 1 world banking system so they come up with this cock n ball story about some fucking bank bail out - its complete bollocks - they want to own all the banks thus injecting billions of dollars into them. They now own the banks - simple as that.

folks, Obama will be the same as Bush, you mark my words - my guess is you WILL attack Iran & Syria for the oil - but again some cock n ball will be made up about them attacking YOU, which is gonna be complete load of fucking shit.

Do not listen to Fox News BBC News Sky news ITV news ABC news channel4 news there all full of spin & propaganda you are being brainwashed.

9/11 = US Gov operation = False Flag Operation (example Operation Northwoods)
pretext for war to invade Iraq & afganistan - to have bases in the middle east.

GM doesn't have a problem selling vehicles. They have sold more cars in the US than any other company for 77 consecutive years.

Yet they are bleeding money. I'm with "farkedup". The problem is their legacy costs which cost them about $1500 more per vehicle compared to a Toyota.
