is it ok to support the IRA in america?

I saw this dodgy looking like cunt with lots of tattoos walking down the main street in town out shopping the other day. He had a T-shirt that said "IRA" in big letters then a picture of a masked guy with a gun or something like that and the words "undefeated army" bellow!

I couldn't fucking believe it to be honest as he walked in front of my car I thought about running him over! I am not taking sides in all that I mean if it had been UDA or something its just as bad.

So is that acceptable to support the IRA in america?

I just thought if you tried wearing an "Al Queda" t-shirt out shopping on a saturday the reaction would be a lot different

Are you really comparing the IRA to Al Qaeda.

Al Qaeda = made up name used to scare people in the west (ask former UK defence minister)
IRA = REAL religious fanatics (christian I may add) that killed their neighbors

So you live in America and support freedom of speech, but you want to control the names on peoples tshirt? you want to run someone over because of a t shirt? and you say THEY are the sick people?

People run anround in Shirts with CHE on in? what is the difference?

Its not entirely fair to compare them but the IRA were terrorists and killed a lot of innocent people. How can it be considerred acceptable to openly support that?

So did the British in Ireland, they were just returning the favour. I don't support the IRA but i supported their cause, bombing cafes is wrong....but then again the British government didn't seem to think so.

I am not saying he can't wear the t-shirt I just know if I was back home in UK and someone wore a IRA or a UDF t-shirt out shopping on a saturday that would not be received well.

I am realy wondeinrg if this guy was a loan dickhead in an offensive t-shirt or whether its "OK" to openly support the IRA here.

There are laws that prohibit support of those on the terrorist lists. I dont know the details of the rules, CIA list them on their site
