Here is the question, many say mccain picked palin to get the women votes, do you think the fact she is better looking than the avg american women back fired? Would he have done better with the women vote if he had some plain jane looking female or some fat slob as his running mate as more women can relate to that?

Another thing to note is that in this country the women vote is more spoken about than any other country and that in itself is pretty amazing.

I think it's because she has less than half the IQ of the average woman that it backfired.

EB, as you probably know by now, women are very unkind to other women, especially when threatened. "I betcha" the thought that their hubbies think of her while doing them did cross a few female heads, indeed.

given the fact that she's pretty and she speaks like an insecure 13 year old girl (also a sign of arrested psychological development following major emotional trauma at that age), i can't imagine how anyone thought she would be a good thing for any campaign.

Palin's the ideal example of 'better to remain silent and be thought of as dumb...than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Well there is a huge disagreement in the country about that. 64% of Republicans think she should run in 2012, and 69% of Republicans think she helped the ticket.

In related news, 1 out of every 4 people in Texas thinks Obama is Muslim. Policies aside, is it any wonder he could never take that state.

One reason is that somebody who is pro-choice will never win over a significant portion of evangelicals, who are the base of the GOP. I heard one evangelical put it this way: the economy changes, but values/principles of life do not. If you disagree on principles of life, there is little room for compromise

She is just too much of a backwoods hick to appeal to most American women, bottom line.

If she had been from any state other than Alaska or Hawaii she would have had a way better chance.

Alaska is barely part of this country, she's just not quite the apple pie they tried to paint her as. And their little makeover just wasn't good enough, the media exposed all that.

Now in terms of her good looks, I think most females dig that. I'm pretty girly, so I have to admit I love to see those female politicians all dressed up in really expensive high fashion business attire with big chunky necklaces and fantastic hair and makeup. Like Hillary and Nancy Pelosi, they always look fab. :1orglaugh

really, Palin is almost like a weird foreigner to most of us. But I think she helped the republicans get lots of attention regardless.

The proof is in the pudding. 57,358,053 Americans would be ok having Palin step into the driver's seat on day one if something happened to McCain. McCain lost, not because of Republicans, but because Democrats and the majority of Independents came out in droves to try to keep him and Palin out. Both parties voted in record numbers.
