Well I served with quite a few well respected and VERY patriotic US Army soldiers that are muslims and you wouldnt know it if you saw them. It is one of America's great tragedies that because of 911 and alot of other hate filled people having an agenda that we are led to believe that all Muslims are evil terrorists. I blame Mccains campaign for making it even worse.

One of my good friends in the industry is a Muslim. He doesn't think too much of what he does for a living, but otherwise he fasts and all. He's an interesting character, great guy really.

The thing is MOST people that are a part of a religion don't take things LITERALLY and use common sense and aren't stupid sheep which makes them good people.

Its the stupid people who are brainwashed into taking things literally and can't decide things on their own that makes them "good" or "bad"

so there are the good & the bad, all true I think.

What military were you in? Even in places like Bosnia every US camp had Muslim services and ALOT of black us soldiers were very much Muslim.

All Muslims are terrorist? NO but there is greater percentage of maniac extremists in Islam than in other religion.

At the same time, There are Muslims who are the most pious and righteous human beings on earth.

Cant comment on what you saw as a marine because like i said i was Army but there were regular services in Tuzla Main, and even at smaller camps like Bedrock. I know this becuase three of my closest freinds were african americans that attended them with many other soldeirs as well. While stationed state side I never paid attention to where they went but I know they still met somewhere on post.

Seems they still have them even in Iraq although Im sure much smaller as the troops are propably doing a ton of hops.

25% of Texas think obama is a Muslim and I sure hope hes not a terrorist although our last president terrorized me a lot. I dont think that made him a terrorist.

There is no such thing as ALL, but there is such thing as MOST

and MOST are not terrorist, but MANY ARE, and MOST do support terrorists, but Some do what they have to do whether that mean join army for funds, that doesnt mean they hate the iraq war and hate the US ARMY

Being "born out of" is very different than being "part of" and the trouble is the refusal, or inability, to make the distinction.

Fanaticism exists in every race, religion, culture and walks of life and too many time blanket statements are improperly (and most often) used by those that don't understand - to promote fear.
