Paulo Filho is a bad ass fighter, but he didn't make weight yesterday (over by seven pounds on the first weigh in!), was fined 1/3rd of his purse to be awarded to his opponent. Unfortunately this means this fight will not be a title fight for would be challenger Chael Sonnen. Zuffa, the UFC & WEC parent Corp. had already decided to fold the WEC Middleweight and Light Heavyweight weight classes anyway after this fight. As a result of this fiasco, it remains to be seen whether Paulo will be invited to join the UFC now as he was expected to.

No interview for Chael Sonnen after he defeated Paulo Filho in the tv broadcast tonight. I wonder what the story with that is. Was there no interview or did they cut away from it and edit it out?
