Old news... :pimp |
Biden knows foreign relations as well as anybody so good to have him as the VP. he did predict this.
Castro did the same to Kennedy and Kennedy took the bait - almost a disaster. |
Gotta love the Russian media:
"Ordinary Russians were sneering about the entire election, which was characterized in the frequently chauvinistic popular media as a contest between a senile grandfather and a black man of dubious credentials and intellect. American voters were portrayed as "popcorn and hamburger eating idiots" by one newspaper. Several tabloids incorrectly reported that the main message of Mr Obama's final campaign speech was a call on young African Americans not to let their underpants show above the waistline of the jeans. Yeah Russian media been puttin on alot of hateful rhetoric of not only the West but Europe. I think the Kremlin is feeling pretty insecure again and wants to kick off a war.
As usual Dumb Russian citizens will believe these criminal thugs that Putin controls and will go right along with it. Man I hope they got half a brain because 4 brigades leaving Iraq goto go somewhere and ya know Obama has had about enough shit of Whites trying to push em around saying he can't do shit as a black man. |

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...ty-620073.html "In a historic break with Russia, President George W. Bush served formal notice to Russia that the United States is withdrawing from the 1972 Anti?Ballistic Missile Treaty, a move effective in six months. "I have concluded the ABM treaty hinders our government's ability to develop ways to protect our people from future terrorist or rogue?state missile attacks," Bush said. Bush quit that treaty and decided to spend billions on an anti-missle system located in Poland and Czech Republic, (not supported by the societies in these countries BTW, but well, who cares?) which in the eyes of many defence and military experts, may be even not useful at all that system is "not against Russia", its against rogue states, such as Iran or Korea, but is an nuclear attak from such countries really likely in the foreseable future? IMO... not at all.... And , if feared, other measures can be used to prevent a nuclear conflict with them. And Russia... well... they are just replying with the same. Can you really blame them? also, remember, Russians think about Americans the same you think about Russians (Ok, they watch American movies etc but when it comes to politics, they think about the US exaclty what you think about them). When they hear about the new anti-missle system planned by the US in central/eastern Europe, an area that used to be under their control during Cold War, they just think what you just said about them... namely "fucking Americans".... One can only hope that there won't be another Cold War from it, but I think the world isn't two sided anymore so that's not really a danger... at least not to such extent as in the past but really, its that easy... you need to be able to look at certain things from many points of views... Bush lacked this ability... you support and elected Obama so you should try to... |

If those that want to live under Russian rule let em goto Russia. Its pretty simple. Taking something that is not yours makes others a little paranoid. |
Ok, so they just need to whip their dicks out and see whose is bigger, then it's all over, right?
|
The Russians can sense weakness. They know the election of Obama weakens the US and encourages its enemies. Now is the perfect time to make a move. The US public has decided they prefer to be liked rather than respected. I am sure that the various global powers have received the message that the US is no longer to be feared. The election of Obama was the equivalent of waving a big white flag to our enemies. That is why the enemies of the US were so supportive of electing Obama and why they were celebrating last night and making their plans this morning. :disgust

in order for this to be a 'threat' to their security, they'd have to want to fire nuclear weapons. make any sense? what i don't understand is why set up the missile bases? they'd have a far bigger voice by not doing the exact same thing the US and co are doing |

I don't like the stranglehold Russia has on Europe regarding oil and energy... I think the West as a whole needs to get with the program and get off the oil tit of Russia, OPEC, and every other nation that we don't agree with that just so happens to also possess oil reserves. Funny coincidence... or not. |
the drama sure is exciting

Sweet Godwin's Law on the first page, now that didn't take long did it |
What's ironic about this is that if our Army wasn't stretched to the breaking point in Iraq, a place we had no business being in the first place, nobody in the world would be stupid enough to "test us"
The fact that they know we have no troops to deploy is what makes them act like such tough guys. |
Like Russia is not big enough...
Russia has the largest reserves in Natural resources. Not once in world history has America moved in offensive tone to Russia. Yet all the Russkies can snivel about is "Defending themselves" from what? If the Russian Political System works for the people under the Kremlin whats the problem? THese Missile systems have no Offensive capability whats so ever and they merely reduce the number of casualties in the event of a missile strike. I am pretty sure Obama will pull the plug on the missile systems anyways. It's not a back down or standing down, infact it's money America would rather not spend anyways... |
You realize he doesn't actually take office until the Inauguration in late January of next year right?

I would suggest you as a citizen of that country contact you representatives and voice your displeasure with this decision, because when it comes down to these being installed your government can always say no if the people are against it. :2 cents: |
Quote:
If a guy in New York and myself have well known differences, and he starts putting up "Anti-Missile" defenses in my neighbors' yards here in Washington, I am sure as hell going to put up missiles in my yard to take those out, and while I am at it, I will make those missile have the ability to do a lot of damage, as an option, just to be safe. |
Quote:
And I'm sure if McCain was president he'd get all mad and talk about bombing Russia and Palin would be talking about how she can see the missles from her back yard. |

I mean if the Czech's and Pole's think they do not need the missile system and the general populace of those countries think they do not need it, Obama will pull the plug on them. I am certain of it.
It will take a penstorke for Obama to discard that system plan anyways that costs billions. It's a no brainer decision. THe situation is nothing like Cuba Missile Crisis whats so ever no matter how hard people try and paint it that way. The missiles are for shooting down other missiles thats it. Nothing more. Cuban Missile Crisis was about offensive nukes on CUban soil. |
