Confessions of a Negro
Ok. I have to confess something. Old white men in power scare me. It sounds racist but they all look to same to me.... wrinkled, grey, and powerful. Growing up in 70s racist N. Louisiana, I had a right to be scared. How many of you were ever chased by the clan? How many of you were told you weren't good enough by whites because your skin wasn't pale (I used to be "high yeller" but not high enough I guess). I was. From the stealing of this country from the Native Americans (who by the way, are actually descendents of Asian Mongols for those of you who don't know), this country has been run by someone who didn't look like me and who would as sure enough not even spit on me to put me out if I were on fire. That representation of the US is not what the US is anymore. Minorities of all nationalities are here to stay. Even racist Louisiana has an Indian as it's governor. Now, in office, we have someone that I feel that I can personally relate to. He's not a hahahahahaha like Jessie Jackson would've been (Yes, I said hahahahahaha!) but someone that I have common interests with.... mostly the same views (except for the Pro-choice thing and bringing the troops back and offshoring jobs), intellectual (even though is IQ is reportedly only 130), and wants to make a good life for all people...and not just those who supposedly represent what this country is and how we live. So, yes, I wanted Obama in office and I'm glad he's there!
