Will this ease racial tensions in the US?

What do you think? I'm watching on T.V. footage of people of all colors celebrating in the streets over Obama's victory.

I'm going to say it won't. It will do a lot for sure to stomp FUTURE racism, but I think both people racist against black people as well as racist black people aren't going to suddenly lose their racism over this. Also consider the possibility that hopefully will never happen - if Obama were to even be attempted to be assassinated, the tension would increase tenfold over what it was before this.

Who I really feel sorry for in all this are white people that are a minority in particular ghettos. It's already rough to be a minority in such areas, but with Obama elected I would not be surprised to see white people in such areas get harrassed to no end. HOPEFULLY I'm wrong - I really hope for the day when color won't matter whatsoever and people won't even describe someone as a black person, white person, hispanic person, etc, but just a person. Still, I think that day is hundreds if not thousands of years away, if the world doesn't end before then. :2 cents:
