The H2, who has one - thoughts?
 

I went to the dealership yesterday. i'm thinking of getting an H2. Anyone have one or have any thoughts on it?

They're all over the place here. Personally I don't like the new styling at all, much prefer the classic style myself.

I actually like the new style... if it is infact all Hummer under the sleek lines and glossy paint job. :thumbsup

Just spent some time spinning around Sacramento in one of them there monsters... Great rig but hell on the gas card.

Personally Jamie...I do not see you as an H2 kinda guy. Stick with the original upgrade you had in mind back in June. It fits your personality better.

The older style hummers are much better looking and built better. For 50K i would rather an Escalade..

they should have never dopped the price on Hummers the whole value is not there anymore

I think the H2 is horrible...After dropping 50k on one of em, I'd be afraid to use it properly =)

I could just see all the scratches and dents I'd put into it, less that 24 hours of having it =)

On the subject of Hummers, there are military depots in Norway with hundreds of them inside HUGE mountain halls. Brand new Hummers, lined up. I was inside one during a N.A.T.O. exercise in 95 when I was in the army.
The U.S. army even has large hospital complexes built into the mountains, around mid Norway where they expect(ed) the N.A.T.O. retaliatory invasion to be in case of a Russian attack on Norway.
I guess they have closed down a bit of it now, but that was just an AMAZING sight to see all those Hummers.

Definetley prefer the old look, but no doubt they're still an excellent vehicle.

I like the new H2 they are much bigger in person than they look in the picture.

Its bigger than my range rover and I think I might get one also in silver.

the h2 is built on a standard gm truck frame i.e. suburban. with a standard gm v-8. has all hd running gear. looks good but its not anything like the original h1.

I'm beeen kicking arund the idea for a few weeks now. I've always been a pick up truck guy and I'm not sure if I want an SUV. if I get one it will be an escalade or an H2. I'll probally stick with just getting the newer model of my Z71 truck though......

I think they look pretty slick, the only down side is that you cant do much to it after you buy it. So your truck will look just like the next dudes truck at the stop light.

For the 50K just buy a Denali or Escalande.

Test drove one the other night. Nice ass wheelz. But it intimidates the piss out of other drivers and the height of the headlights goes right into the mirror of the car in front of you.

Nothing wrong with that, I love the intimidation factor a Hummer has.

For 50k I'm considering the X5 or the H2. Any X5 owners want to comment?

H2 is the poor man's hummer. Get a H1 or don't bother..

I'm not sure if I agree with that, it's not like I can't afford the H1. but why would you want to spend the money on something that isn't as practical as the H2? Parking will be hell of a lot easier with an H2, especially since living in Cali.

H1 is illegal in Mexico 'cause the Mexican Military use them and no civilian is allowed to own one.

So don't bring one down here 'cause they'll take it away from you.
You'll probably get it back but after a lot of hassle.

It's really stupid.

Then don't get a Hummer.
