How to get comped in Vegas?
So, going to vegas tomorrow, will probably gamble at the Mandalay Bay.
What does it take to get comped? Do I have to speak to someone beforehand? How does it all work? |
You've got to play blackjack or craps and show that your willing to spend. You speak to the dealer and ask for comps and usually they will talk to their supervisor and hook you up. If you are spending $$$, you will get comped.
|
aaaaaaaaaaa..................spend some fucking money!
|
Start by getting a players card so they can monitor your gambling.
Make sure you change your cash into chips on the table and do large quantities. Even if you're only playing $25/hand, check change at least $1000. When you're being rated, it helps if you're playing big hands ($100+). After a few hours of doing this, you should be ready for some comps. You need to be somewhat aggressive in getting them, you can't hope they'll give stuff to you. Tell them you want to come back but need to go get dinner, you can expect them to comp your dinner. Keep growing from there until you start getting free nights, etc... Remember comps are done on a revenue per hour to the casino basis. If the house advantage is 0.5% (typical blackjack) and you're betting $100/hand and doing say 20 hands per hour, then the casino is making $10/hr off you. You can expect your comps to be a couple bucks per hour based on this. Good luck. WG |
Not Likely...
Alas my friend you are unlikely to get comped unless your spending a lot of money... I saw a guy do $100,000 and all he got was $4000 back... not a great rake... they also gave him on a credit card to spend in their hotel shops...
Now if you can warrent $100k spend to go on a $4000 shopping trip then I have a bridge to sell ya... Alternatively win a $8 Million Jackpot on the slots and see how quickly they comp ya :) Only other plan I have for you is this... get a friend who is good on the phone to call the hotel the day of your arrival... make sure its before you get there... When they call get them to tell the receptionist they need to speak to the manager... Get them to tell the manager that they are you PA and that you are the CEO of a very large IT company... get them to swear the manager to secrecy as your looking to keep your trip low key... but that its on the back of you signing a massive multi billion dollar deal with Microsoft... and that Bill may even visit at some point during your stay... Get them to leave some random message along the lines of a money transfer being cleared for you to enjoy your stay and that not divolging the figure it's a 7 figure amount cleared on your american express card... entrust it with the manager and that he is the only person to relay the message direct to you... and that he must not alert anyone else as to who you are as you want to play it low key... When the manager gives you this information ask him two questions... 1. what the table limits are on roulette in high rollers pit, and if these can be raised ? Secondly in passing ask if the hotel as a jewlers and get the number for a private showing... tell him you want something expensive for your wife and soemthing even more expensive for the girlfriend... If this doesnt get you a couple days comp in the plush royal suit then you aint going to get it lol... in honesty you will do well to anyways... as I said they want some big ass money before they comp... |
its a mix between bet amounts & time at the table, that is if you dont know anyone. Time on the tables most important. The amount of bets:how much you are betting, my grandparents get comps all the time, not because they bet big amounts, but they are playing for HOURS.
|
with money being tight I wonder if they are now tight with the comps.
|
Good luck on your adventure.the house always wins
|
Sit your ass in the chair and don't move for 4 hours... if your broke beforehand, nevermind. If your not, get friendly with the pit boss and dealers and you'll be fine.
|
Problem with all the big money going into Vegas these days is you really gotta bet high and for long periods of time to get their attention... And it's usually a better deal to just pay for whatever outright.

I'm going to Vegas with you. |
i could pay 200 for dinner or lose maybe 10+ times that and hope to get dinner out of it..heh
|
Well considering that many of the places now make more off of dining, shows, and shopping than gambling things may have changed some over the years. Hell I would not be too surprised if they eventually gave out some chip comps if you buy your dinner at whatever spot etc.
|
yawn... go to the palms... ask for a host named mikey (nice older lady) and get a players card.. spend some money..
i used to go to vegas once a month and play 5-10k.. i never paid for anything. suites, meals, extra rooms for friends, limos, and tickets to anything were all comped.. when i stayed at mandalay, bellagio, or venetian i was lucky to get a free meal at the buffet... stick with the plams for comps... :2 cents: |

I play at Harrahs (Caesars/Rio) properties specifically and love their rewards, if you get into Diamond club/tier you won't have to worry about getting comped again pretty much, it's open bar and open food every trip...plus you get to go to front of any line regardless of wait and they will fly you out and shit Overall man if you are looking to get comps on your initial go, you are going to have to spend and bet big :2 cents: |

The Palazzo and Venetian have been sending me mail offers for 3 and 4 night comps for the last 6 months. I just got another one yesterday that offers me up to 4 nights in a row at either hotel and I can use it as many times as I like until November 30th. |

Agreed. The Hotel comes to mind. |

Hey Aaron, Any chance I get the code on that mail offer. I'd love to be able to use that myself. Did you just sign up for the players card and they started to send you that stuff or was it something else? |
as mentioned prior, its all about the amount per hand and duration played.

Get a MGM players card (good at any of the MGM hotels). Go to a table and give them your players card while you trade in $1000+ cash for chips. Minimum bet is $25 per hand if you want to get credit for comp. You have to play for several hours, atleast 10 hours per visit, in order to get the good stuff.
You probably won't get comped for this trip, but you'll get dozens of comp offers for future visits. I get free hotel, free $, free food, free airfare, free shows, free UFC tickets, etc. Play at mutliple MGM hotels in order to get more offers. |
vegas is different nowadays. used to be so much different. all corporate and all... used to go a lot, now not so much. good luck

Best comps for the cheapest plays are at the local casinos, the coast hotels and what not and down on fremont street.
Take 5-10 friends with ya, hit fremont street and play the tables, after a couple of 'hours' tell the pit boss your group is hungry, they will give you some free meal tickets. Enjoy |
LOL this thread delivers.....
|
Circus Circus is comping the kids these days? Are you finally legal? Damn time flies. :1orglaugh
|
Play big because that is how you roll and what you like to do. Take those comps. Don't play just to get comps. You would be better off paying for everything.
Always use your players card when playing. |
Get a players card or whatever its called at that casino. When you play table games, hand the dealer your card so you can be rated.. they'll watch your bet per hand and your time at the table, the boss will come over every once in a while to see your bet amount and put it in the computer... when he comes by put down a little more than usual :)
I played roulette and won at The Venetian , i started with $100, left the table after 4 hours with $700, I started at like $25 a spin and when i was winning was up to $50-100. I get a call every few months from a host at the Venetian asking when I'd like to come enjoy some free nights. I've used 2 free nights from them since then, and didnt even gamble those times. They still call and offer. |

The venetian has no buffet and the restaurants are not owned by the Venetian, so they dont give comps to restaurants. Best thing to get comped is your suite at the venetian |
I'll tell you the secret to getting comped in Vegas:
Lose. A lot. |
People go to vegas and think they're going to get free rooms and free drinks...
That's how they keep you gambling. If you just buy drinks, and pay for a hotel room, its cheaper than gambling. :1orglaugh |
Quote:
and yes i know i can get comped rooms at the venetian.. but i was telling people how to get the most comps.. |

Otherwise I still think Vegas really is just a giant mall with a few casinos nowadays anyways. |

I just go sit on the 2 cent slots so I can keep getting free rum and cokes. Takes a while but eventually I get drunk.
:winkwink: |
take out a 20k marker when you sit down at the table , and then tell pit boss get me a fucking host but they will prob send you one once you take the marker regardeless

But I did go there to get fucked up, and my Vegas partying days were awesome. :1orglaugh I mean, fucking awesome. :upsidedow |
just go there with some fake bling around your neck and couple of trashy girls, you'll get tons of comps
|
You get comped like crazy in the Atlantic City casinos. Usually you can have them work out free hotel and travel to their vegas locations as well.
|
You might be surprised at what you can get just for asking, especially if it's during a slow period. Just ask in a very non-pushy way and talk to them like a friend rather than a customer/guest. I got an upgrade from a small, single room to a huge 2 room suite priced at seven times what I actually paid just by non-nonchalantly asking how full the hotel was when I checked in. When she said they had plenty of rooms open, I asked what kind of discount I could get if I upgraded, she looked around, winked, and did it for free. Granted, it wasn't the penthouse suite, and it's not like they were sending me free bottles of champagne, but I stayed in a much nicer and larger room than I could have afforded and was treated like someone who had paid for that room. I probably gambled less than $100 on the whole trip.
