Need shooting advice and/or assistance from Tampa area people.
 

I'm planning on shooting some F/F and M/F SPANKING CONTENT down your way in the not too far distant future and....

I'm looking for:

1. Suitable locations to shoot.
   
   Believe it or not, we usually do best utilizing large, sprawling 70's era half-empty "no tell" motels as studios. The nature of our product is such that it lends itself to the tacky surroundings and our production needs are relatively modest, i.e. four walls, electricity, a decent amount of open floor space, a bed and privacy.
   
   The latter requirement is oftentimes the most problematic. Again, we shoot SPANKING videos and our models are encouraged to yell, to scream and to generally act very, very unhappy. Shoot this sort of stuff in the wrong place and you'll see flashing blue lights shimmering through the curtains in no time :(
   
   
2. A good cameraman (or woman).
   
   Someone who's proficient with lighting, can think on his (or her) feet, is comfortable shooting this sort of nonsense.... and won't break the bank.
   
   
3. Models.
   
   I'm sure I can find plenty of suitable area talent, but any advice (or warnings) in this area would be most welcome as well.

From what I've been told Hillsborough county has pretty much entered the 21st century. Besides, our stuff is rather tame.

No actual sex acts on our set, just plain old fashioned ass spanking :)

Motels make terrible locations, especially if the girls are going to be screaming their heads off. I filmed lots of adult movies in Tampa back in the 90's, but I always got local help finding suitable locations to film in incl houses, condos, boats, or businesses or used various connections to find places. One time we even had the police show up on one of my shoots outdoors at a private nudist colony near Tampa when some of the neighbors in a trailer park called to complain but all they did after checking everyone's i.d.'s to make sure we were all over eighteen years old was joke to porn stud Mark Davis that it must be hard to keep a hard on when the cops show up! Nowadays however I would take as many measures to stay low profile as possible.

Years ago the cops interrupted a shoot we did in a motel up north. It actually wasn't the noise that attracted them but rather the model's suspicious looking boyfriend parked outside. Anyway, it went down very much like the deal you described. The cops huddled, decided that we weren't breaking any laws and then laughed the whole thing off.

Of course a Florida sheriff might see things a bit differently.

Is it really worse down there now than it was back in the 90's?

Probably would be the same result nowadays if the cops came to a shoot in progress as back then unless you happened to get one asshole bible thumper who wanted to break your balls. But I tend to be very careful anyways to not draw scrutiny when I am filming just because I have so many consecutive years of mostly problem free production all over North America and elsewhere and I see no reason to take foolish risks and be cavalier about it.

70 percent of my shoots are in fl in hotels. The trick is shoot during the day and no one gives a shit. The latin cleaning ladies dont care.

Daytime is definitely much, much easier.

I forgot to ask.... can you recommend any good ones in or around Tampa?

From what I hear, you're safer shooting porn in Iran than in Polk County :upsidedow

la quinta's are cool because I can bring my dogs and some of them have doors right to the outside.So you don't have all kinds of people going in and out of a lobby. I have used them in a bunch of states. Spanking maybe louder than the usual girl girl shoot. Have you thought about renting a studio to shoot in? Maybe Jim or one of the fl people know of one that rents out by the day or the hour or possibly the swing club in tampa. During the day they probably have nothing going on.

I checked out one your trailers, I would be scared to shoot that in a hotel room. It seems very loud. lol

That's why I like big sprawling old motels that take up an acre or more of land.

It helps too if it's the sort of place where the other patrons would prefer not to draw attention to themselves either :winkwink:

I know there are a ton of motels near Bucks stadium, not sure of the atmosphere for shooting tho...

There's a bunch of them clustered around the airport too, but I'm not sure which ones would be suitable for my purposes however.
