Senseo or keurig coffee owners....need your feedback, please

Hey Senseo coffee owners...

need to get a new coffee machine and was curious if anyone here has either the
senseo.com coffee machine
or
keurig.com coffee machine

please post your feedback.

thanks in advance!

keurig
works great..it is a fresh brew each time you want a cup.
go for the parisian blue coffee, it is great..

only downside is the "waste", each serving is a little plastic cup similar to that of the milk servings at macdonalds, so you produce more waste or trash which is not so cool.

senseo; most common in Holland. great for a while but it gets boring after a year or so.
Nespresso is the best I think. But it sucks you can only order pads thru the internet.
keurig I have not heard about

tony286 10-30-2008 03:31 PM

Are they more expensive per cup than say mr coffee.

Meeper 10-30-2008 03:42 PM

I bought a machine from senseo 2 years ago and now it doesn't work. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but if you like decent size cups of coffee I would go with something else. Its pretty pricey too.

I like the Senseo. Got one at home and another in my office. Didnīt get boring so far. But i have to admit that the best coffee is done by Jura machines.

I have a keurig and love it.

bausch 10-30-2008 04:09 PM

I have had both... Right now I'm using Senseo but I used to use a Keurig...

Keurig is bigger and bulkier, Senseo is more compact... One thing I noticed is that Senseo takes about 90 seconds longer to make coffee than Keurig... With the Keurig the water is already heated and when I wake up I just put in the coffee and it comes out if the water is already in here...

With Senseo you have to wait until the water is heated every single time and it takes 90 seconds...

I've had the Keurig for a few years and love it. I rarely drink more than 1 cup of coffee so it's perfect for me but I've also had 10+ people to make coffee for and even doing it one at a time it's around the same time as a pot and everyone gets to pick their own types :)

I order the Kcups over the internet but I've seen a limited choice available at Bed Bath and Beyond (though it's been a while).

ThumbLord 10-30-2008 04:35 PM

both suck.
period.
get a real ( Italian ) machine, buy good coffee and voila.

candyflip 10-30-2008 05:46 PM

I got a case of Senseos for $30 each a few years back and at the time they had a $50 rebate. We still give them as gifts to anyone we know drinks coffee and hasn't already gotten one from us. Everyone of them still get used and not one has had an issue.

They're really good if you like making tea quickly too.

I love my Keurig, Bed Bath and Beyond is finally carrying more and more flavors!

SarahLLO 10-30-2008 06:42 PM

I got a Senseo for $15 about a year ago when they had that promotion... I love it, makes my coffee super fast and perfectly hot. Never had any problems.

Supz 10-30-2008 06:44 PM

keurigs are awesome.

takes 90 seconds to heat up the water, i dont know if thats "super fast", that annoying light blinks while its heating. When i wake up I am like an addict, I need that caffeine shot running through my body asap, 90 seconds can seem like an eternity when you are in need of that caffeine fix... you know what im talking about... when you turn it on you have to wait for the water to heat up...

with keurig its already heated, the coffee comes out right away, so its like i minute and 30 seconds faster than senseo...

you have more issues than a Ford Pinto

how about: get up, switch on coffee machine, go pee, come back, drink coffee

already heated means wasted energy while you don't use it

LilBro 10-30-2008 08:42 PM

lol... thanks for the feedback.... did some online review searching and the senseo downside is that it makes a 4oz cup unless u use 2 pods, if i am reading that correctly?!?!?! plus i see a lot of people complaining about leaks.

no negative findings on the keurig... plus i see costco has a crazy deal on keurig. Plus u can make teas and hot coccoas with keurig : )

Already heated? So does it just stay on all the time?

I'm not a big caffeine addict (I pretty much drink coffee for the taste, caffeine has never really been terribly effective for me) so a getting a cup of coffee in under 2 min is fine by me... plus, like I said, I only had to pay $15 =)

That's the only downside of it, all is great except the k-cups are kinda expensive... :(

This is true... it is retarded

but I also read some people use the dark roast and use one pod to make 8 oz of coffee...
but if u use the flavored pods it would be too weak, so yes, 1 pod yields a 4 oz cup.

it stays on all the time unless you turn it off... it has a function where it can turn off after every use. I preferred to keep it on 24/7
