Morphing xml/rss feeds... school me.

What is "morphing feeds" compared to "feeds"?

Sortie = noob on morphing feeds

it's replacement of certain terms within a post ex.

she fucked his dong like a bull champ
she fucked his sausage like a bull champ
she fucked his pee-pee like a bull champ
she fucked his meatsicle like a bull champ

randomized replacement of specified term...the idea is to have a unique feed pull to avoid duplicate content (can be done with plugins now also)

Exactly. Usually it's done such that you can't see a difference even with a reload, as it sets a session or cookie... less freaky to you if you hit refresh or come back to the page and it's different.
But Visitor A will see something slightly different than Visitor B.... and likewise, Google will see something different today than what it sees tomorrow.

Thanks for the replys.

I had no idea of what it really meant.

yeah it's wp-o-matic - it rewrites feeds so like if the sponsor you are using doesn't provide morphing you can do it on your own by rewriting regular expressions automatically also has campaigns so you can set it to pull and post on certain dates/intervals highly recommended

Is that how it works? Because I was under the assumption that the syns were swapped upon pulling and outputted to the blog, and once written it's not changed. Instead of swapped each time the page loads.

I'm sure not all feed providers do it exactly the same, but many of them, you can view the feed directly and see the same entry over and over and over again, but restart your browser or view it in another browser and some words and maybe even the image(s) will have changed.

Yeah, once it's published on the receiving blog, it no longer morphs. Unless you are morphing on your end with a plugin.

stuartd is referring to random.php refreshes which is sometimes used on blogs but mainly on freesites and landings (i do use that metod for sidebars though to randomize banners), not used on blogs mainly because it's not as automated and doesn't "morph the feed"
