Do you think an Obama administration will be good or bad for the adult industry?

Do they say anything about free speech in their platform when it comes to adult entertainment?

2012 10-27-2008 11:27 PM

I'm sure a McCain Administration would be much more tolerant. Especially when they start picking those supreme court judges.

After Shock Media 10-27-2008 11:29 PM

Neither did.
Obama did however just voted present on altering or something like that zoning laws in regards to adult establishments.
McCain on other side has been flirting with many in the Christian right.
Obama is for net neutrality, McCain is not.

clickhappy 10-27-2008 11:32 PM

I just saw this
Quote from Obama:
"the internet is the most open network in history, and I am willing to keep it that way"

Nice

After the farce of the Bush administration and it's attempts to fight porn I think both candidates are not going to say a word about porn. Not even with the Christian right wing. The rest of the US is sick of that campaign from Bush.

XPays 10-28-2008 12:08 AM

good for the business

Liberal judges are better than conservative judges for our industry.

Pleasurepays 10-28-2008 05:33 AM

threat is not the candidate, the threat is the right wing Christians and the extent to which their vote needs to be courted.

do you honestly think that Bush woke up thinking "gee... Alberto Gozales, ya know... i don't really mind bombing villages and blowing up children, but i'd sure like to do somethin' about them there nekkid girls on that interweb. Got any idears?"

To suggest that Democrats are more friendly to adult is not really accurate. Neither of the two major parties is friendly with adult.

buyandsell 10-28-2008 05:49 AM

it seems like a no brainer things would be better under Obama/Biden than having the republicans back with a bible thumping Sarah Palin as VP

Boobzooka 10-28-2008 06:03 AM

In one of the democratic primary debates, Obama firmly rejected censorship (link). The guy was a civil rights attorney. What better ally could we expect?

Lycanthrope 10-28-2008 06:23 AM

Now Obama is an "ally" for the adult industry? That is just comical.

The Dems may not have actively pursued "the industry", they certainly left many doors open HOPING somebody else would take care of things. Janet Reno under Clinton anyone?

Can you imagine how fucked up labeling / censorship would be had Tipper (PMRC) Gore's husband won when he ran? (shudder)

I'm by no means saying The GOP is better either for the industry either... No party is "pro porn".

tony286 10-28-2008 06:29 AM

even thought the right wingers here dont want to face it.republlican admins have a long documented history of fucking porn in the ass. why do you think hugh hefner and larry flynt are democrats, these are rich men but they lived the history. also john mccains good friend is charles keating is the one who tried very hard to get larry flynt put away for life, mr keatings law firm gave john 50k for this campaign.

SilentKnight 10-28-2008 06:35 AM

Only time will tell.

All politicians, no matter how good they appear on the surface - will eventually follow the agenda of the squeaky wheel to some extent.

I'm optimistic (at this point) that Obama is the better candidate where the adult industry is concerned. But all we can do is judge what is said during the election campaign.

Once elected, promises can fade like a fart in a windstorm.

Cyndalie 10-28-2008 06:37 AM

If McCain doens't have an agenda, I bet Palin will.

As for Obama, I think he's got bigger things to worry about than porn.

notoldschool 10-28-2008 07:10 AM

Its not even close. Obama is for net neutrality and keeping the internet open. Mccain is hardcore against net neutrality, tried to shut down the likes of MMA, and is in the Christians pocket. Imagine what Palin would do to our industry, and please dont say she is just the VP. I think it would be her first order of biz.

cykoe6 10-28-2008 08:06 AM

I think that Obama will certainly be better for the adult industry than McCain would be.

TisMe 10-28-2008 08:16 AM

I would hope that any administration that is NOT beholden to the religious right for votes, or has a member in the administration itself (Palin), would be more apt to focus on real issues like the economy, war, etc.

McCain, as much as I like him, is more likely with Palin on board to continue the "morality police" agenda that Bush has pursued.

Doctor Dre 10-28-2008 08:21 AM

Net Neutrality is the most important issue for the retards takling about anything else.

Obama is for net neutrality
Mc Cain isn'.t

The Obama Way: Freedom, Tolerance and Reasonable Regulation.

The McCain Way: Morality, Censorship and Punishment.

Here is a good read written by Piccionelli and should put things into perspective for those that are un-decided.

Greg Piccionelli seems right "On Target" with his latest column.

Kudles 10-28-2008 01:27 PM

I think it would be good

gfm777 10-28-2008 11:16 PM

yes, absolutely, I agree with everyone else above me, Obama would be better.

I'm sure if Bush did make such a statement AG would say something to the effect of "I can't recall."

Once again you miss a HUGE difference. Neither are "friendly", however one is actively hostile.
