Just as a side note...

All of you who say "it will never happen" I'm sure were the same guys who said that there would never be a "EURO" currency to unite all of Europe the same you say now there will never be an "AMERO" currency to unite all of North America.

His point is, that perhaps you don't realise it, perhaps you don't live in Europe, or you've never traveled there - or perhaps you just have your head up your ass, but the EU isn't particularly popular among a lot of Western Europeans (particularly) for the way it conducts itself and does pretty much what it pleases, completely ignoring the people of Europe.

It may not collapse anytime soon, and the power-base may prevent it from occurring, but the EU is a fucking joke. The common market place isn't a bad idea, but it is the super-state they are trying to build along with it that is the problem - and people aren't too happy with it.

I never thought I would be agreeing with you and Buzzy on something but you are absolutely correct about this. The EU is a undemocratic nightmare that is completely disconnected with the people in Europe. It could not win a popular vote in a single EU country at this point. The common market was a fine idea but the current form of EU super state is a catastrophe.
