I moved back to FLorida...
 

NYC was just too much... I found it hard to kick back and relax there. I'm not going to dis NY... it's an entirely different world... every day I walked around and tried to see as much of the city as possible -- not just the tourist spots... My apartment in BedStuy was a mistake but still a good experience... I think everyone should be scared for their life at least once LOL. My friends there are nuts -- masochists... I had built them up to be more than they were -- they just enjoy suffering... they call it work. hehe. I had romanticised NY, but it didn't live up to my expectations...

Leaving home really makes you appreciate everything so much more. You know it's a priveledge to be able to walk down the street and be able to look people in the eye and say hello without that paranoia, to take a quiet stroll through your town at night and watch the sky sunset from blue to pink... Shit I have a backyard, I can look out my window from my bed when I wake up and see only trees and smell fresh air... and at night I can smell fireplaces burning, home cooked meals, blooming gardens... Girls in shorts... Just the pace is different -- no car horns.

LikeWhoa is a great company. I'm really excited about the future of this industry and the leadership role that they are taking with products like AdultCentro. Even though I'm no longer an employee there, I still want to see everyone using AdultCentro and I'm going to be pushing it on my own sites. This is a free service/community/marketplace/etc. that is in the interest of logical progression and evolution for our industry. I'll have to ask Nick how much I'm allowed to reveal about this project, but if you go to AdultCentro.com you can see many of the features and if you have questions about those, call me up and I can explain to you why this project is so important for webmasters. I enjoyed working at LikeWhoa -- these guys are true to their craft and they all inspired me...

Yeah I had to make an important decision when I was there. Do I want to be a violent person? I had to think -- what about next time? I honestly couldn't be sure that I wouldn't kill the next person that tried to attack me... I was calm the first time because that's what you're "supposed" to do -- just give them the money and be over with it... But it was no longer about money -- they had attacked my sense of well-being -- my peace of mind. That's something that I value more than anything. I had all these violent thoughts of tearing his skull and spine from his body... Disturbing shit.

Seems like 2-3 times... but I'm going to stop moving. I'm just going to call them vacations :) I gotta visit you guys in Portland soon!!!

i always have a blast in NY. i ran into some trouble in Harlem last year... but i still love the place. but like you say, the pace is crazy. i wouldn't be able to live there, except maybe a couple months out of the year (which would be really cool).

agreed...defintiely a great place to visit but for this city boy living there would be a pain in the ass and knowing myself I would want to be where everything is going on. Good luck with getting back your peace of mind Pete...it's the most important thing u can have without buying

I have this view of NY myself too, you kinda brought me back to earth fast, lol.

I just moved back to Florida myself after being in Seattle area for 5 years. The heat's taking a bit to get used to again but other than that things are pretty good. :)

A friend of mine got robbed once by 3 guys
he just couldnt get over it
so after a couple of months we where out
drinking and got pretty drunk
while cruising the streets in a cab heading for a club
he saw one of these guys outside of a mcdonalds
he just freaked out
told the cab driver to stop and he went out for this guy
he walked over there and going berzerk
kicking him and beating the shit out of him
he jumped back into the cab and we went to the club
at 5 am that morning this guy and some friends
waiting outside his home (they had his name from his wallet)
shoot him 3 times in the head
later the police caught them and they confessed everything
what a fucking way to die huh ?

Florida has a ton of adult entertainment companies and webmasters. Especially Boca area. Been here since 94, lived in LA for 16 years, and Florida has everything LA has without the traffic, the quakes, and outrageous prices for houses.

Its gorgeous here and I wouldn't live anywhere else now.

You know the night before I left, my good friend tells me that a guy in his band was stabbed 3 times coming out of the subway in Park Slope -- ended up in the hospital and didn't leave his apartment w/o a car for 3 months. And then my roomate tells me he was held up at gunpoint at a chicken joint... NY is just not a safe place especially if you're white -- that's just reality. Jam Master J dies the day I leave -- that was a sign. Hehe...

You're in Boca? Hehe... Cool I went to high school there. I love the beaches there... Red Reef, Palmetto South Beach, Spanish River, and you got Deerfield and Delray beaches right there too... I pass through there every once and a while... is it still kindof like a retirement community? I guess you have FAU growing fast now... we didn't have much to do there in high school... After dark the only place open in all of Boca is Dennys... they don't even have a 24/hour Walmart hehe.

Yeh, Boca is awesome and a lot more younger people here now in there 30's and 40's. The older people are pretty much gone. Boca's real estate has gone through the roof so not many can afford to retire here anymore. Its all entrepreneurs and the like.

And they do have a Wal-Mart 24 hour store in Boynton Beach now which is great. Plus tons of Dunkin Donuts are always open 24-7. Outside of NYC and LA there aren't many cities with late night stuff available besides Denny's and 7-11.

I lived in NY and it was amazing! Everyone told me before I went how bad it was and that the people would eat me alive. I thought the wose but I made tons of friends, found the best food everywhere, made more money modeling that I knew what to do with and had the time of my live! Then I moved to LA, HELP!!!:helpme

Gotta respect that fly. NYC isn't the place for everyone. Not to mention Bed-sty. I'm really surprised you lived there, as it is known to be one of the worst, if not THE worst places to live in America. If you lived in The Village or upper manhattan, I bet you would have loved it a lot more. The major problem is the cost. Living in FL will probably save you $50k a year. So its a good choice.

I'll never leave Florida again. Living 5-10 minutes from the coast (depending on the red lights), and owning a little 14' center console fishing boat, is my recipe of Heaven on Earth :)
