Problems with TAG watches

man this is my second one, and the second one with issues.

The first one the bezel broke and I waited a year to find out about repair. They dont make that one any more so the replacement would have to be a used one or custom made.

Got a new one. 1 year old and somehow the locking piece for the crown broke. Paid 695 for the watch and the reapir is costing me 300!!!

Rolex here I come.

Anyway else had issues with TAG?

SBJ 10-22-2008 01:58 PM

nope I've had my Tag for about 1.5 years and never had a problem with it.

tranza 10-22-2008 02:12 PM

I've had some friends with TAG problems too.

I really like my Breitling and my Omega.

:)

Sadly yes. The cap for one of the chronometer buttons popped off mine about 2 years ago. Had it repaired, popped right back off and lost it about 3 months later. Battery died pretty quickly as well. Pretty shitty for such supposed high quality watches if you ask me.

I have changed 3 batteries in 2 watches.

one the battery died within a month. they replaced it no charge.

foghead 10-22-2008 03:50 PM

I paid $4K for my TAG 6 years ago and the second hand has been stuck for 2 years.:Oh crap

facialfreak 10-25-2008 02:07 AM

I've had an S/EL Two-Tone Chrono for about 9 years now, and it looks and works like the day I bought it .. never been serviced.

It gets worn maybe 3 times a month when I have social engagements to attend ...

I have a 22 Jewel SEIKO Automatic (bought in '94) for a daily wearer .. It was factory RE & RE'd maybe 4 years ago ($200), when the hash mark for the #4 fell of, but besides that never a problem :thumbsup

Vendot 10-25-2008 05:40 AM

Go for Breitling, they are precision made swiss.......

Fucksakes 10-25-2008 05:44 AM

had my tag for about 9 years.. paid 2500 for it.. battery died twice thats all.

wear it everyday.. its a part of me.

L-Pink 10-25-2008 05:45 AM

Same perfect Rolex for more than 15 years.

Vendot 10-25-2008 07:03 AM

Rolex is like Ferrari

Breitling is like Aston Martin

One is brash and bold and showy and other is highly sophisticated.

I guess it depends on the model, but i have 12 Tags one of which i wore daily for more than 20 years without a single issue . I still have it and it looks as good now as it did 20 years ago :thumbsup

kristin 10-25-2008 09:34 AM

Chris' TAG works fine and we've had it for about three years.

I wear Philip Stein. : )

stickyfingerz 10-25-2008 09:43 AM

Im pretty close to deciding on a new watch. Been looking at Movado for awhile now.

SGS 10-25-2008 10:13 AM

Had my gold and steel SL for about 15 years now and it's never missed a beat or had a problem in all that time. Still like new.

Breitlings are getting pretty played out now, they get a lot of attention.
