Why is it that traffic is so extreme in conversion rates?

Some traffic which get's sent is phenomenal and others just can't convert worth shit. I almost feel bad but why is it? Are there just the sites that completely attract those who will never whip out their credit card?

And if so... how are those sites makin money?

LOL here's what the problem is. It starts with the sheep herders, and ends with the sheep.

There's a LOT of programs (Sheep Herders) here that are FANTASTIC sales people and attract affiliates in droves by making huge exaggerated claims about "amazing conversion ratios!" and such. The problem is that they have no idea what surfers really want, and don't do a very good job of offering it either. Frankly I don't even think they care... because it's "not my traffic, we only pay for the sales... so what do we care?" To add to the problem, most affiliates ALSO don't really understand WHY a surfer would be compelled to join any particular paysite. So they get swept away with the sales hype of XYZ Cash "Amazing 1:150 Conversions!" and their corresponding $75 PPS, and logic just goes straight out the window.

Nobody seems to really understand that if you link to a bunch of shit websites, you'll have shit sales as a result.

The problem is that most webmasters don't understand that first and foremost compelling content results in great sales. They THINK that great traffic results in great sales. WRONG. It begins and ends with the content.

You know who does understand that? ATK, Offworld Media, Karups, FTVGirls, ALS Scan, and BangBros / OxCash, Met-Art, and a small handful of other sites that pretty much pwn every site you see promoted here. Almost everyone else having these ridiculous sales contests that are designed to herd maximum sheep fits into the sheep-herder category.

In my sig are two sites... one is feeding the other right now (vstrip to ishot). The best conversions from any affiliates to ishot is my own site. Maybe the way it is set up... always believed in selling 3 times. That being links out to find the site, description on CC page, and then an upsell. Not saying this is the way but I think it has some merit when the best conversions are coming for those interested in strip poker.

Maybe if some webmasters considered some sales tactics while driving the traffic in lieu of just a banner or link out??

tomorrow. Early november getting a bunch more.

That's the key to this site (I guess most), but will update twice a week in november and december and see where it goes from there.
