why does apple make you have to download iTunes software to buy mp3's from them?
 

I was going to buy a song, but when I found out I have to install some kind of itunes software I balked....

why would they put up a roadblock to doing business like that?

I enjoy my ipod, and itunes. But I LOATHE that they changed default player to QT (I changed back). Plus they have bullshit running all the time, even if you do not run itunes and turn off their auto loaders on start up.

That AppleMobile whatever I am closing all the time pisses me off.

It is the one thing I have always hated about Apple. Their installations, and bullshit they want running in the background to report, or call home all the goddamn time.

Yeah. Apple really fucks you up with popups and Zango installations.

If you want their service, you're expected to use their product. Rhapsody does this, Napster (v2) does this, and Amazon even tries to get you to do this - but doesn't enforce it, however, if you don't, you can only buy a single MP3 at a time.

I heard it was because stickyfingerz consulted for them on DRM.
