Lol, nice to see Tube8.com is running the following advertisement...

Tube8.com is arguably the largest free adult site on the internet. Tube8.com gets millions of visitors per day and they are running the following advertisement on their site:

http://promo.badoink.com/tube8/fpi_300x250e.gif

(This bottom image is just incase the top image gets blocked.)
http://i35.tinypic.com/2na8nsz.gif

Lol, "Because people who pay for porn are stupid"

I thought all the free porn was bad enough, but now advertisements which tell the surfer not to pay for porn.

And webmasters wonder why conversion ratios are so bad? Lol.

but tube sites don't hurt the industry at all. they are just the new tgp.. lollllllll

Here is the problem, 95% of surfers see and experience the advertisement exactly as I did. They don't click it. They just glimpse the banner and read what it says while they're watching the free videos.

Those who are unfortunate enough to click on the advertisement are obviously not expecting to pay for porn, so they get a double dose of negative advertising. First, the ad says not to pay for porn. Secondly, they get lied too.

Thats bizniz.. :2 cents:
Its like "sign up here and get free access to bullshit".. just different term but the meaning is the same.
The idea to set it up like this is pretty smart from the tube8 guys. I mean they even tricked all of you, so there shit works. How many webmasters can say there shit works these days? :1orglaugh

If none of the sponsors who allow their ads to run on tube sites allowed them to run, then there'd be no tube sites, and no issue at all.

Hardly rocket science trying to figure out how to stop them.

I'm not sure if you're understanding the point I am making with this thread.

That advertisement is damaging because it helps to affirm what millions of surfers who visit Tube8.com may already be suspecting. The idea that paying for porn is stupid. Whether the banner links to another free tube site or spyware or paysite is arbitrary.

What you are referring too as a successful advertisement, because it tricks the surfer into thinking they're getting free porn, but secretly charges them, is only successful in generating a high rate of charge backs.

:2 cents:

Saying that surfers are stupid for paying for porn might be good advertising for the moment, but reinforcing the thought that it is bad to pay for porn could be bad in the long run.

We should all start a banner campaign " free porn gives your computer viruses". See how it goes for 6 months. :D Joking.

seeandsee 10-18-2008 06:36 AM

"free porn gives you a tumor" will work better

Violetta 10-18-2008 08:01 AM
