Give the idiots another 5 years, and they might figure out that what they've actually discovered is that people who want to hide their online activities tend to use the same technologies.

I don't fucking get that story at all. Why not hide the messages in facebook photos or something benign? It's like hiding your pot stash inside a bomb.

Well, it actually is possible. It's called steganography, hiding messages in other messages (or data in other data).

I'm fairly sure terrorists wouldn't hide illegal materials in illegal materials, though. That'd be utterly idiotic.

It's far more likely that they'd hide secret messages in normal porn. After that, it only takes a journalist or government stretching the facts to end up with an article like the one I linked to.
