My new ride

http://www.trekbikes.com/images/bike...edium/2300.jpg

Picked up from a shop in Berkeley yesterday, took it for a 15 mile test run this morning. Crisp handling, smooth ride, 0-35mph in about 20 seconds.

Its a couple models down from the bike Lance rides. I could have gotten that one, but for my level of ability a $4,500 bike is overkill.. plus there are more mechanical/tuning issues at that level.

No, I don't shave my legs.

I'd take the Cannondale. I don't like big, clunky looking bikes.. those tires add a shitload of weight in the last place you want it.. unless you are just planning on bombing down hills.

I've got an old cyclocross bike I use for the trails, something like this..

...but a tad more beat up. If you are going to be riding mostly flat, hardpacked dirt trails I'd consider one. They are much lighter, faster and easier to handle than an MTB, even fully suspended ones.

Those MTB's do look sweet tho! :thumbsup

not as tight as your S500 :winkwink:

hahaha, thats the way to do it in style :) A few ski places I know run their lifts in the summer for MTB'ers who like flying down hills. I gotta try it sometime!

Hey thats a nice Trek. I've been hanging to get out on my Treddly as its been very clunky after no service for 3 months, just dropped it in today for a service and will be out on it tomorrow for a 60k ride (can't wait). I've got a Specialized Compact with $750 wheels, can't remember the name but there kickass and glide perfectly.

OH btw, SHAVE your legs dude, you'll go faster :)

Damn

What sort of motors do they come with?

I have a bike, rode it once last spring. Felt like the seat was trying to rape my ass.

hahaha, i understand that feeling. A pair of good shorts and a gel saddle will help, but it usually takes a week or two of regular riding to get used to a road racing saddle. After that its perfectly comfortable.
