Solution to make your Pre-checked Cross Sales more legit.
 

Why hide them, pre-checked below the submit button? that's shady, everyone has agreed on that... so why don't you make them legit? Put them above the submit button, UNCHECKED, or give an extra page after they sign up saying "hey, check this shit out also, wanna try it out?" so they can choose if they want it or not.?

How I see pre-checked cross sales as like this, you're at the grocery store, buying some baked beans and hot dogs for supper, because you can't afford anything else, damn economy! Anyway... as you're checking out, while you're not looking, the cashier throws in $30+ extra stuff onto your bill and into your bags... oh shit, you just got charged and didn't know, because they were sneaky about it, and just wanted to make extra bucks off you!

Would you like that? Because if ya do, I have no problem following people around and sneaky like throwing shit into their carts so they can pay extra for shit they didn't want in the first place...

As long as they are clearly visibale ABOVE the submit button it should be fine... most programs have them burriend on the bottom of the page these days...

At FreakBucks many sites have NO xsell and the rest we only have 1 xsell well above the join button and clearly visible... :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

the only proper way to do them is prechecked above the submit with either an quick descript and an asterisks to the explanation below, or a full description with the prechecked box. those are both within visa regs. sick of people bitching about this.

yeah, above would shut a lot of people up, but obviously below the submit button they are trying to hide it from the surfer...

agreed, below the button is against visa regs. report them to visa and watch those merch accounts go bye bye. hiding from the surfer should be prosecuted as criminal offenses.

We have a prechecked cross sell above our submit button. There's really no need to put it below unless you are TRYING to sneak something by.
