Loading Images Question
Do you think there is a big difference in loading a bunch of little images that have been broken up from a big image, or just loading up a big image when you load a page in a browser?
For me, broken up smaller images seem to load faster than one big image.
but is there something about limits with the amount of images a browser can accept in one page time?
More smaller images are better because it keeps people on a page. If they are just sitting there waiting for one big image to load there is a chance they will leave.
Multiple small images cause more simutaneous connections to the webserver. For people with slower speeds, this will ensure they don't usually get bored before the whole page loads.
For people who use the super-leet firefox loadfasturtrix, it's going to give you a temporarily higher server load. |
I agree with the posts ahead. Obviously, loading images take time. And small images load faster.
