There's nothing wrong with having a gay dog. Just don't let him watch you shower.. that might be too tempting for him to handle. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

How did it happen? I've had my dog bite my finger, scratch my face and head butt me before but usually was rough housing and mainly my fault.

He's just like that all the time. I bent down to try and calm him down and he tapped my teeth with his. He didn't mean to hurt me but shit happens

i have this dog that i adopted like 8 months ago. he is pretty old and i am pretty positive that he was abused his whole life and has post traumatic stress disorder because sometimes he just starts snapping his teeth at me for no reason. one time i picked him up and he started snapping and got me on the face. thank god he is missing most of his teeth.

2012 10-15-2008 12:16 AM

*shorter thicker neck
*wider ( pit jaw )
*same ears ( most of the time he /\ points them like that
*thicker tail same length
*longer hair but shiny coat like that
* sweet never heard him growl
*almost as big
my lips numb now:1orglaugh

When dogs bite their owners face it is a domination thing and unless it is nipped in the bud with a regime to assert authority on your part, then yer fucked bud!

I guess he didnt bite me. He just jumps , jumps jumps on everybody all the time. He's intensely excited like I said. My face was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Really not a mean bone in this dogs body. He does look like he could rip your head off though ... if it was in his heart to do that I'm sure it would happen no problem. It's not ...

Unless you're willing to store your head in the closet, you need to teach him to behave, and only get 'rowdy' outside.

Im going to get a new camera tomorrow get outta here take some pictures of him. He's a really good dog. I named him Wyatt. Wyatt Earp was a mess too when he was young. He reminds of those guys too because it looks like he has a black and white suit and tie ... I liked the movie with Kurt Russell ...

I've been trying not to wrestle around with him too much because I read it was a bad idea if he wins

2012 10-15-2008 01:20 AM

reason I named him Wyatt too because I'm training him to guard the house

Ross 10-15-2008 03:48 AM

My dogs done that before but it was a total accident. He was more excited and jumped up as I lowered my face. His mouth was open and his big tooth caught my chin. Should have saw the reaction from him tho, he lay down immediately and put his head down. He knew he had done something wrong even tho it was an accident.

Its not exactly bad if he wins, its more important that he understands play time from real normal situations. If you are wrestling with your dog you should always be at their level ie on your knees or something. I've went through all this with my dog, I can wrestle with him and he can be standing on me practically but as soon as I tell him to sit or lie down he does so immediately. You just got to be in control of him at all times.

What he said.. :thumbsup

Phoenix 10-15-2008 04:13 AM

if it snapped at you and bit you..i would have beat it

not senseless but until it yelped and tried to run away

do not let a dog think it can do whatever it wants

I only want him to be violent when "something" comes into the yard. He's real good at tearing up shit. I try to encourage that. But not in my face

no, he's not like that. He's just happy. He gets over excited and stuff. He knows when I get pissed I yell "What the fuck man !" ... I think he knows thats when he just sits down. He likes the cats and shit. He wants a coyote because when they howl he gets real fucking excited !

Wait, I have stayed quiet reading this thread every so often but that there is a WTF comment. Encouraging violence is not to smart at all. Dogs get teritorial enough about homes and yards without encouraged violence.
Odds are against it happening- what happens if it gets loose or someone wanders into the yard for whatever reason besides messing with your shit? While on that, what about when you take it on walks or whatever, even with a leash?

Very last comment is more personal as recently I was nearly mauled by a pit-lab mix. Guy (of good size) was walking his dog on a leash down street. I was putting something into mailbox. As I began to push back, I heard him yell something or other and heard barking. To late, it hit my wheel and about knocked me over. He came running and yelling. I grabbed my pepper spray I keep in my cushion and sprayed the dog. Dog yelped and let go. He proceeded to yell at me and the dog. Go figure. Guessing the dog pulled out of his hand with the leash.

Davy 10-15-2008 04:57 AM

I would so put that thing down.

No he's real good when I take him for walks. He just wants to jump on everybody to lickem. He's mean looking and he doesn mean shit but he has a good heart and he wouldn't hurt people. I encourage him to just protect the house. For example ... I've been bringing him in and teaching him to chill. A rabbit or something came in the yard, I think it was a cat. I let him loose and gave him some treats for looking out and barking. He doesn't like anybody where he lives but when I take him out he is very good. He just looks crazy. Just a big dog, I wish he was smaller but , ... 9/10 times I'm defending him when we go out not him biting someone ...
