Tips about cool restaurants to go in th Miami/Orlando area. Help?

I'll take a 2 week vacation between October 24th and November 9th.

On the first week, me and my girlfriend will be hitting the Disney parks, and doing some shopping in Miami City. After that we are going for Cancun for a week.

I was wondering if you guys have any tips for cool restaurants for us to go in the Miami/Orlando area. We love seafood, so any tips there would be great!

:thumbsup

I've heard about that place before. Isn't it always full? Is it possible to get a reservation there on a week night?

You cant get reservations there from what i understand, you have to go and wait generally, could be from 20 min to 3 hours.

When I am in Miami -- I like these two;

Smith & Wollensky's

and

Porcao

Both are very nice.

Yep, that's what I heard actually. There's usually a huge wait. But if the food is as good as everyone says it is, I'm sure it's worth the wait.

it doesn't get much more Miami than eating at a Brazilian on Brickell Key.

It is one of the best anywhere;

Ortanique is my favorite Miami restaurant. It's on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables.

I'm not a "restaurants" guy when I go to another town, it lames me out..

Orlando, hit up the Dr. Phillips area for Moonfish, Season 52, Samba Room, Timpanos, anything in that area will be good, it'll be the Sand Lake exit off I-4

tranza 10-16-2008 01:21 PM

Thanks for the tips Matt and Colin!!

If your in the Disney area, you might as well hit up Downtown Disney & Universal City Walk. They have a couple of good restaurants...

Downtown Disney:

Bongos Cuban Cafe, Fulton's Crab House, Portobello Yacht Club, etc - are usually pretty good.

Universal Studios City Walk:

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, Emerils, etc

Try Prime 112 and The Forge in Miami. Great places for a steak.
