I am writing a book I need your help (book topic - camgirls and the business)
 

I have been toying with the idea of putting together a published book of the business of being a camgirl and what it takes.

I have searched amazon. and there isn't much book about it. hell there isn't any book on the topic, but there is about escorting.

So I have been wondering what should I have in the book, and I can't really seem to get my ideas on paper. so I need some help from you guys.

If you were to pick up a book about being a webcam model. what would you want the book to have.

Dont forget to mention all of us "killers and asswholes" as you called us a few years ago.

well first of all you'd be selling to girls, so those are the opinions you want... not the horny guys on this board.

if you are a camgirl you must have tons of information you can write about... start with an outline like:

what made you interested in being a camgirl
making your own schedule
what to wear
how to act
what to say in chat
technical setup with cam
props?
all that stuff...

and how much money you can make doing it...

you think cam girls are going to do homework?

Do you have a publisher that is even remotely interested in the idea? If not then you're likely wasting your time.

I get a lot of emails from girls asking me about webcam it would be easier to send them to a hardcover source like a book or a website.

I posted on here since its a webmaster board always trying to get into some new idea.

You might be better off publishing it as an ebook, much less capital needed and more of the sticker price getting back to the writer.

Before you waste your time go out and find a publisher. It makes no sense at all to write a book on any subject if you can't get it published.

being a camgirl is way more complex then what you guys have posted. I am still going to coutinue with my book, and it will surely give some insight to people who are still unsure what being a camgirl really means as I see many of you still have no clue what it means.

Minnie, I think a book or even an e-book is wasting your time. No publisher is likely to want to publish to such a small audience, and few camgirls are going to want to pay upfront to learn about work opportunities. I think that you would be much better off making a female friendly online forum that had posts and articles (the kind of text you are thinking of putting in your book), and individual girls' blogs plus links to cam programs and photos and a forum where where camgirls and wannabe camgirls could interact and network and share tips. Girls would join the forum just like they waste time on Myspace. With advertising and referral links for the girls to sign up to to different cam programs, buy clothing, and purchase cam equipment I think you have the start of a potential business there.

I have decided to make it into a blog, I remembered something the belle de jour london escocrt started off as a blog, then a book, then now a tv show.

So That is what I will be making a blog for camgirls or curious new camgirls to email me with their questions and read different artciles. and I will take it from there.

you don't seem to get that the potential total market for this is extremely finite.

furthermore, earnings are such that your english speaking market is almost nothing... and the target market is people who aren't going to read anyones advice on anything.

being a stripper might be a lot more difficult than it seems... the day you get a bunch of "fuck you, i don't need anyone and i know whats best for me" type personalities to think about self improvement and openly listen to the advice of others, is the day you can change the world..

you have what you think it is a good idea... you fell in love with the idea... but you have no real perspective on its potential.

why? because you are typical of the exact people i am talking about and that you want to target. you want to tell people... you don't want to listen. you are bull headed and stubborn.

you would never buy your own book... much less ponder reading it.
