vidiscript + sponsor import = budget tube ;)

After MAYBE an hours worth of coding I just ported my import tools over to vidiscript and will be able to offer up an addon for that system either tonight or tomorrow sometime depending on when I get sick of coding

http://fastfreemedia.com/vs/

That is my test site for it so I'm INTENTIONALLY trying to break it so if you see weird shit just try back later.

AnniKN 10-12-2008 06:04 PM

RIGHT ON! Awesome :) looking forward to try/buy it

farkedup 10-12-2008 06:25 PM

232 vids from anilos imported in ~15 seconds

I'm going to load vidiscript up with just about every sponsored video I have supported and we'll do some testing on it with massive amounts of data.

http://www.x10media.com/ is the next script I have on deck for integration. It's a paid script but I know the developer so its next up for integration.

Looks good man.

What is with the numbers in the descriptions?

Shouldn't have any in the description but in the titles they are to avoid importing the same file every time the import is run. It was the only "portable" method I could come up with that wouldn't require DB mods to every system I support.

Basically everything in my DB has an ID number so whatever sponsor supplied title I have + that ID number is the title.

I do some work with the vidiscript guys mate, would be nice for other users of the script if you could post the add on in the vidiscript forum.

:)

Will it be a public release or for your own purpose?

it's going to be made available for purchase within ~24 hours. I've hit a wall and coded support for x10media and vidiscript tonight and have been doing some testing.

I plan on working all day tomorrow on some extra utilities and improving the admin interface as much as I can as well as tracking down even more sponsors!

Sorry I meant the titles, my bad. Thanks for your reply.

Sounds cool, is this being shared over at the vidiscript forum too?

vidiscript CAN NOT WORK on 90% of the hosts!!!!!!!!

^^^ just a fair warning so you guys don't waste your time

that statement is simply retarded: http://vidiscript.com/requirements.html

I don't have anything SPECIAL configured on my server and uploaded the files and ran without any kind of issue.

Its always smart to check the requirements of a script before trying to run it.

Even if a server doesn't support vidiscript there's 2 other scripts my sponsor import works on currently and will be adding more in the coming weeks.

I tried installing the script on three hosts, didn't work on any of them, I believe it was teh "IonCube loaders" whatvever that is that was missing, pretty sure that some hosts can install that for you but keeping in mind that you can get 100% working tube with Joomla and Syeret (sp) or Wordpress (if you embed only), wasn't worth the trouble for me

stand to be corrected of course

farkedup 10-13-2008 12:39 AM

if you are missing ioncube loaders some kind of text usually shows up that says something about ioncube.

I'd say that more than 90% of hosts support ioncube or CAN if you ask. Regardless, I'm simply adding support for this since it was requested.

x10media also requires ioncube so if that was what was stopping you that won't help you. At this time I'm not completely sure which encoding type I will be sticking with. As of right now it is Zend for this addon and my main script is still completely unencoded.

bro, if your host, or your programmer/techies can't install all the required stuff you need to change hosts.

Tim 10-13-2008 05:46 AM

Can the script get a good screenshot from each sponsor hosted flv or embed?

If your host can't run Vidiscript then thats pretty bad, 99% of the stuff needed to run Vidiscript is standard stuff these days......

The script runs on fine with virtual hosting on Webair.I had them load up the ioncube loaders and everything worked fine. I just wish Videoscript would allow bulk importing of sponsor FHGs.

calmlikeabomb 10-13-2008 09:22 AM

http://www.ioncube.com/loaders.php

Download the appropriate loader, upload to the server.

Problem solved.

alright, I was delayed a lil by dinner and beer last night (thank you $.5 beer night and a trip to the strip club that resulted from said beers)

I have this package actually ready to go out to people but I still have to make the standalone prettier. if anybody wants it hit me up on an IM or email [email protected]
