Anyone know of any software I can use to cut up Quicktime or mp4. files?

Need to cut up some full movies in to clips.

Not used to working with a Mac, and I can't find any decent PC options that allow QT or iPhone compatible movie files.

Help appreciated!

You can always import them into an editing program (even iMovie), and cut them. Just set your output to pass through, so you don't lose any quality.

VideoCharge does it now I believe.

I have a tool to merge them, splitting I actually can't think of one off the top of my head.

I think this is what I'll have to resort too, just going back in to FCP and figuring it out. I know in Vegas I could render with time chunks, hopefully FCP will allows the same. Just didn't want to have to go through the editing process again :(

Flip for Mac to convert WMV to QT. Isquint for rendering. Quicktime PRO or IMovie for simple editing. FCP for sophisticated editing.

I have researched this extensively and tried every pc app that exists, and to my knowledge NOTHING can auto-split Quicktime files successfully. Videocharge is supposed to do it, but when you try to split without re-compression it always crashes. So you are stuck with doing Quicktime splits one at a time by hand in Quicktime Pro. In contract, the latest version of Boilsoft's Splitter app is able to auto-split MP4 files, luckily.

I posted a similar question a few months back and was recommended to use Boilsoft Video Splitter (http://www.boilsoft.com/videosplitter/) which worked great. I'm not sure if it does mov files but it definitely does mp4.
