I bought Mac Book Pro

Guys!

Wow. I had no Idea that Mac is sooooo much better then PC

It does everything making web sites easy, grabbing and making videos easy, It is great for media business.

I am impressed. And it will save me few grand a month because now i can do so many things myself with out paying programmers and Editors and Designers.

Also since i can do Media Creating and Sharing myself i will communicate much faster then before.

Also it never freezes and works fast.

Paid 2800 because got extra 2GB ram and Warranty for 3 years. But I am too happy to even think that that money was spent.

It was one of the best investments i made in the equipment

Thanks a lot Apple.....

peace,

this is one of the strangest things I've ever read. sorta like I just bought a ford, it does so much more than my chevy. I can drive to 7-11 and the bar and lots of other places my chevy wouldn't go. I'm saving $$ because I don't need a taxi anymore.

dude, if you can't operate your machine don't blame the machine $.02

Macs rock, been using them since the eighties. Typing this from my bed on my old 15" Macbook Pro. My main computer is a one year old 17" Macbook Pro hooked up to a 30" Apple LCD display.

Back before Mac OS X came out I almost switched to Windows but now I just run XP inside of Parallels or just IE using Crossover to check my stuff in Windows browsers.

Yeah new stuff is coming out Tuesday but there is nothing wrong with what is out now and there is always something coming out anyway.

I want to upgrade my first generation iPhone to the new 3G model but have been waiting until I kill this one .

adonthenet 10-11-2008 06:51 AM

Happy to hear that :) can you make a How-To type of videos like there are on youtube? like video your desktop easy?

candyflip 10-11-2008 07:38 AM

Nice move, aside from upgrading the RAM from Apple.

They mark that shit up like 400%. Crazy.

The Macs are all the easiest to upgrade too. Installed RAM in a Macbook or iMac takes all of 30 seconds.

Do yourself a favor and buy all your upgrades third party.

how does it replace programmers and designers?

vidvicious 10-11-2008 04:37 PM

I love my Mac pro !

Sly 10-11-2008 04:52 PM

I don't quite understand what it is that it is doing so much better than a PC that it's saving you so much money? Does it have software that PC does not have an equivalent to? I'm confused...

Dvae 10-11-2008 05:19 PM

Congrats on the move. Theres nothing like a Mac.

I've been a Mac guy since '92, took to it like a duck to water.
Over the years I've had to use a Win machine off and on for various reasons.
Thats until recently I decided to get into Forex. Unfortunately there is no native OSX trading platform worth a damn. There are Java and web versions but they suck. Metatrader is the shit for most trading the Forex market.

So I order up a Dell and have got somewhat use to it but I find myself constantly wanting blow my brains out.
Whoever designed the UI on Windows is a complete idiot.
Lets start with the simple things for example: Cut copy and paste.
On a Mac I can easily reach Command/Alt + A Command/Alt + C Command/Alt + V with my left hand

WTF on a Win machine I need my thumb on the other side of my hand to reach The Ctrl key.

Another example: select text on a mac click+drag and where you stop is the selected text on Win you have to click+drag+click

On the plus side is the right click menu which is in most Apple apps but 3rd party not so much. This could be remedied with a programmable mouse which I already have.

I was I could boot Linux on USB. From what I hear you have to hack the BIOS and I'm not feeling that adventurous.

I moved over to a macbook about 3 months ago and am glad I did, however the learning curve is still there. Still want to conttol c to copy etc.
I also still use a Microsoft natural ergo. keyboard as I am used to it and find the mac ones are terrible..
Many things are just different not better on the mac and pc.

lucas131 10-12-2008 09:24 AM

Macbook looks great

No one knows for sure anything. Except there is an apple event on Tuesday and it is going to be about laptops.

The strongest two rumours are a sub-notebook under 800 bucks that is going to be built from a solid piece of metal and that the chipsets are moving to Nvidea (still use the Intel CPU though).

The Mac Book Pro has not been redesigned for ages, and is due a bump too.

WebairGerard 10-12-2008 10:52 AM

love my mac book :) hope they come out with a new one as I will be getting a 2nd soon!

candyflip 10-12-2008 01:32 PM

I'm half way through installing OSX on a new Ouad Core PC I just picked up this afternoon.

Going well so far. Will see how it compares to the MacPro that cost almost 4 times as much. :1orglaugh

Where'd you get a keyboard without Ctrl keys on both sides of the space bar?

I love Macs. I have a 17" laptop and a G5 desktop. I use the laptop the most at home and the G5 when I need more power.

I also have a dell laptop with XP and a desktop with Ubuntu / xp dual boot but I never turn them on. It's been over a year since I have used anything but a mac at home

Install is going, slowly, but it's going. It's a bit on the technical side, some command line stuff just to get things working properly.

Tomorrow I'm going to line them up and see how the compete against each other.

Apologies. I guess I read your post wrong.
It read like you needed to use two hands to press "ctrl-c" on your keyboard.

Manowar 10-12-2008 05:06 PM

Anyone got any news on the new macbooks yet?

kahell 10-12-2008 05:06 PM
