Paypal and Adult?

I know that Paypal and Adult don't mix and haven't for a while. Was looking at Adult DVD Explorer and saw they accept Paypal? Huh?

Was reviewing the TOS on Paypal and think they accept it for physical goods vs subscriptions and stuff. So DVD sales, toys, and lingerie stuff.

Am I correct on this?

Read their T.O.S..

There is a different between 'tangible' adult goods, and intangible.

Intangible would be downloads, membership, etc.

The first is allowed. The latter is not.

Correct, so-to-speak. Turnkey adult web sites are not OK, adult domain names are OK, adult web site hosting is OK, adult scripts/scripting is OK. If you can pass title of ownership it's most likely OK.

If in doubt email them (PP) in detail, describing the exact situation. :2 cents:
Been there, done that, do it daily.

Interesting. I would guess no since they don't really exist anywhere, it's just a setting in a computer somewhere. I think they would lump those with digital downloads. But I would make sure before trying.

godaddy accepts paypal

We usually think of tangibles as something you can hold in your hand. That's not always the case though. A script, even though it's usually a digital download, can (usually does) have a transfer of recorded ownership. That's OK with PP. Same with domain names.

Albeit, it's a fine line. That's why I suggest contacting PP if in doubt. They always reply with a canned response quoting their TOS verbatim. You then reply with "I'm not sure I exactly understand, can you word that differently?". Then you'll get a response from them in their own words.

Domain names are a given, they never question them unless packaged with a live functioning web site.

huntingmoon accepts paypal- tangibles is not accurate btw. there is no seller protection with domain sales on paypal. one has to take that matter into one's own hands.

Exactly.

This includes digital downloads. I know this because when you have a dispute, and someone tries a chargeback. You will learn this hard less.

Unless it is a hard asset, with a shipping tracking label, you lose the dispute.

Domains, software, websites are not tangible.

I dont know why they are so stupid and not accepting adult. They would earn shitload of money by proccessing it.Perhaps now is time to approach ebay managment and tell them to start proccessing adult considering ebay is in problems beacuse of economic crisis this could be their bailout.

-High risk
-Increased Charge backs

Which means, more resources to deal with both customer service, as well as charge back and refund issues equal more money out of their pocket. Not to mention the PR issues since they are in Iowa, Idaho, or some damn place.
