I have been watching this all week, it's like Christmas :) keeps going up.. 1.508...

1 US dollar = 13.56 Mexican Pesos.

3 weeks ago it was 1 US Dollar = 9.80 Mexican Peso.

a lower C$ is good for canada...exports, tourism, movie production, porn webmasters etc :)

It's interesting to talk to people about this. Everyone I ask, including my stock broker friends, my bank manager, other porn site owners, waitresses all have different opinions.

The US Economy is going down, but the dollar is going up. Some say its going up because Dubya's term is almost finally over, and investors are optimistic. Canada is about to have an election too, but the CDN Dollar is dropping.


Others say that the US dollar is the same, but all the other dollars are down.
My stock broker friend says that people are now investing big time into "sin" stocks like booze, tabacco, adult and gambling industries, and especially those rent-to-own furniture places (I assume because sex and gambling addicts can't afford to buy furniture) and that right now he is making a killing. He says he's made more money in the past 4 weeks then he has in a year.

A waitress friend I know has seen the return of US visitors to Canada, saying they are (a) bigger tippers and (b) always tip her in US money which is now worth almost 5 cents more than it was yesterday, and 15 cents more than it was only a couple of weeks ago.

So:
- CDN Dollar, down.
- US Dollar, Up.
- Sin, up.
- Canada Tourism up.
- Adult sales, up. (Our software sales, WAY up!)
- Housing, down. Jobs cut. Companies closing.
- Stockmarket and all other things down.
- Bank Manager: Very veyr happy and laughing her head off today about something during a meeting. She bought me lunch.

I don't understand what or why, but it's really all very interesting how different people are reacting to all of this.

Strangely, this all started just after the LHC powered up... HMmmm....

I changed rate in my income sheet and now i am much richer :)

when the US is 1.14 or 1.5 a CAD $... the good part , prices are not going to go up over night .. but you are 14% richer .. or at the 1.5 .. 50% richer over night..
