Cogent blackholing AlphaRed
I have numerous reports of the BGP route changes due to this.
Please spread the word - I don't want to see people lose their businesses over this. This isn't just about 'come to Choopa' - it's about 'LEAVE ALPHARED'. Worried, Costa |
I can still access them via level3
|
I have a server unreachable and http://alphared.com/ seems down too.
|
Shit's fucked.
|
I can't reach alphared.com but I can reach www.alphared.com
|
so i guess the ccbill deal fell through.
|
I thought that ccbill just bought them out
|
hmmm so their providers are cutting them off!!!
|
drama whores please report in! STAT!!! CODE RED!!!

Will this be a popcorn thread... Pulling up a chair.

alphared.com loads for me just fine..
if i were a little host, i would be very careful about saying things in public now that they have been acquired.. :2 cents: |

You're an idiot.....:2 cents: |

I assume they will be taken apart and will keep only the $$ making customers. |

Down for me in Chicago.
|
finally got through to AR site after numerous attempts. slow as hell
|
At this rate of massive Level3 congestion, I suspect Leve3 will follow Cogent's lead pretty soon. I sure hope not, but damn - this is a huge mess...:(

I just wanna give some major props to Andy over at choopa. We had one last server still at AR. That server got fucked today over this cogent issue. Andy has already been able to get us set up and fixed for now so we don't have too much business affected over this AR crap. Losing this particular server could have been potentially quite damaging to our business...so having Andy step up like he did really saved our asses.
|
countdown has begun.....
|
we need a government bailout plan!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really glad you got taken care of. Andy is a champ! |

to tell you the truth, im somewhat relieved, kudos to ccbill for spending a week shuffling through their books to decide it was something they wanted nothing to do with.
shame for the clients that are offline right now though |
arent you a former alphared employee costa?

I would suggest all Alphared customers to keep a close eye on the situation and think about if they would want (and can afford) to take the risk of waiting what happens with the (still possible) option of seeing your server going offline.
I think the fact that Alphared doesn't bring any update about the situation and the future of its hosting customers is a bad thing and unnecessary as it will make the situation only worse. As far as I can see servers are still online as we just initiated another two transfers but I don't think this will last long, I wouldn't be surprised if everything went down for the weekend. |
