"Please do not send any mailings to me"

Why do I click this on every fucking NATs program I signup to and somehow I continue to get emails? Does this function in NATs even work??

This has happened numerous times now with a handful of different programs. As I see it, I've opted out and you continue to SPAM me.

/end morning rant.

pawsregd 10-09-2008 05:59 AM

Fuck tell me about it

ultra100 10-09-2008 06:00 AM

Hate spam

Lace 10-09-2008 06:02 AM

Last week, and the week before I went through my sponsors so that I could eliminate the 1500 emails I get every fucking morning and somehow, I'm still getting them and when I login, the box is checked! Imagine that.

Babaganoosh 10-09-2008 06:03 AM

I've been using a unique email forwarder for each sponsor I sign up for. If they don't respect my wishes I bounce the email back to their affiliate manager's address.

Lace 10-09-2008 06:07 AM

That's three NATs programs this morning that I have disabled emails on and got their SPAM

Interesting idea...Maybe I'll begin to signup with a live email then can it after a few days so everything bounces back and clogs up their servers and not mine with useless shit.

Oh wow, you released 3 new banners today and 1 yesterday and you had to send me a fucking email about it!

SkeetSkeet 10-09-2008 06:31 AM

email them and ask them to be removed and you can be put on the do not mail list, not sure if this fixes the problem, and not sure why the "do not mail" button does not work, but the do not mail list does

Just Alex 10-09-2008 06:54 AM

I have pissing content on sale this month. if you buy it, I promise that I won;t send you any e-mails.

Michael O 10-09-2008 06:57 AM

Might not help to bounce the email.
My account at a major program I've had since 2001 got closed because "They had tried to email me but the email bounced"
1) Email worked when I tested it
2) I was sending about 2000 hits a week
3) I were logging in on a regular basis

So some programs will use it as an excuse and steal your traffic.

DutchTeenCash 10-09-2008 07:03 AM

it doesnt no

just signed up for a nats prg and uncheck the mail and it was there again.

Thats why we have a icq mail and a working reply address on our FHG update mailings. I delete everyone manually that doesnt want the mailing, that way Im 200% sure itll work.

cherrylula 10-09-2008 07:06 AM

here's a better rant.

Ever buy something online, maybe even for someone else, and then receive inch thick catalogs in the mail several times a year?? Fucking aggravating!

It makes me want to not shop online at Xmas!

I get fucking fishing catalogs, electronics catalogs, pet catalogs, all this shit I do NOT need. I shop on their website, why do I need these stupid things???

Thurbs 10-09-2008 07:10 AM

this is how it works in NATS v3 ( im sure its the same in v4 )

when you check the Do Not Mail me list, it won't mail you the signup emails.

while it shouldn't mail you when programs mail a newsletter, ( assuming they check the box, mail to optin only ) .. if it still does, write that program and say add "email_address" to your REMOVE list found at the top 2nd tab under admin_mail.php

with your email in that list, its impossible for the software to mail you once and for all

this won't work with all 3rd party email addons to NATS like Meatcash Webmaster Factory and other programs have for example. those will have their own unsubscribe functions as they require to signup for an additonal mail setup

hope that helps you get things done. odds are bouncing emails to a rep will just result in them pressing delete one more time and you never getting a real solution

why don't you just opt out of the business then?
Email is how programs communicate with their affiliates.
IMPORTANT communications are delivered this way. you're most likely the same type who runs to the boards explaining how a program never told you about changes that affect you

12clicks 10-09-2008 07:18 AM

and here we go.

FUCK!

either treat this as a business or move on already.

atom 10-09-2008 08:15 AM

When sending out weekly newsletters in Nats the person doing it has to check the option - send only to optin

If they don't do this NATS doesnt care if you have "do not send me emails" checked.

When I first trained someone in awhile ago on this they forgot to check it. lots of webmasters bitched, rightfully so. While I personally like to read emails from programs it's annoying as shit when I get an email every other day from the same program with 5 more "NEW FHG'S"

Odie 10-09-2008 08:30 AM

ok I"m getting some popcorn...anyone got any butter??

You should probably read more than just the first post. Here is a link to the post for everyone to see: http://www.gfy.com/showthread.php?t=...ht=revengecash

And it turns out that Lace was looking for Revenge Bucks, but mistakenly sought Revenge CASH. Is this the kind of attention to detail that you pay to your business, 12Clicks?

BradM 10-09-2008 09:25 AM

12clicks is a douche. Nothing new there.

Nope, it's the kind of attention I pay to idiot posts.
Having nothing more important to do, I'm sure you pay closer attention. Want a job as my board poster?
It will be a step ip from whatever it is you're doing now.:thumbsup

No need to get butt-hurt when you're called out on your half-assery. We're all friends here! :thumbsup

Besides which, I'm really crossing my fingers for that position as Juicy D. Links' board poster. I suppose your job offer is good to fall back on. :1orglaugh

Characterize me however you like, but you made yourself look foolish, and your attempts to mask it with insults are beneath you. Don't worry, though, I won't take another minute of your time. I'm sure you need every second to manage that awesome program with gigabytes of exclusive content that certainly doesn't need cross-sells to be profitable. Have a nice day. :thumbsup

when you're toiling away at whatever job you land after your brief internet career is over, think of how awful my sites are, how I have no traffic, no exclusive content, etc. etc. :1orglaugh

Sands: All 12douche does is insult and then throw a ":1orglaugh" in to make his insecure persona feel better. I have him on ignore through ffvb which is nice - because reading that stuff got tiring YEARS ago but he still continues to use that method of arguing.

In a true dumbshit redneck republican fashion - git er dun

You can't help but hate-respect a guy like 12Clicks. He's like a neutered dog that still tries to hump the air. God bless you and your indomitable spirit, 12Clicks!

How about every single affiliate email you with what they did that day? That's essentially what these "announcements" boil down to. Programs are letting us know they are doing their fucking jobs. It's assumed that programs are adding new hosted galleries and banners at regular intervals. That's their JOB. We don't need an update every time it happens.

I think we should all do the same to sponsors who don't respect the webmasters wishes. Wouldn't webmaster newsletters to the sponsor be filled with exciting and important information?

What's up {SPONSORNAME},

I'm making summer SIZZLE this week with 1.5 GB of BRAND new content JUST added to my CMS today. I've also been upgrading mysql for BLAZING fast database queries.

I've been tweaking traffic settings on {SITENAME} all week long so I can keep making us money! I'm releasing not 4 but 5 brand new blog posts for amazing conversions!!!111

Hit me up if I can do anything for you!!!
-Webmaster

Then we should send that out to every single sponsor we have ever signed up for regardless of whether we actively promote them or not. I get announcements every single day from sponsors I don't promote and haven't promoted for years. Really, some of these self-important sponsors need to chill the fuck out with their ridiculous emails. I have other shit to deal with.

son, if you think using the delete key on an email is too much trouble, you're really not cut out for this business anyhow.

the considerations for a child's wishes are irrelevant in the business world.
Especially when the thread starter has complained about not being notified by email about program changes.

you're better suited for commenting on the non business threads here.
