I just had one of THOSE days!!!
I'm leaving for Curacao on the 15th and realize I can't find my passport, so - I have to get one expedited. I call the number to set up an appointment and get this automated system that let's me choose the time. This was about 11:30 am. Awesome news! There's one available at 1:30pm so I choose it and get confirmation. Then I'm told (which i should have known) that I need to bring 2 passport photos along with everything else.
FUCK, now I'm pressed for time! I still needed to shave and shower. Now, I have to call around to find a photo place. After about 10 minutes I finally found out I could go to Costco. Shave, shower, get dressed ... I'm out! Get to Costco and realize I left my fuckin' Costco card at home! Damn it! Stand on line for 10 minutes. Get to the service desk. All computers are down! FUCK! 10 minutes later they're still down. I explain my dilemma. Manager gives me a temp card. 5 minutes later i have my passport photos in hand. It's now 12:30pm and I have time to breathe. The ride to Wilshire Blvd should take no longer than 40 - 50 minutes. I pull out of my parking spot and BAM!!!!!! An old lady across the lane from me was pulling out at the same time, and we BOTH hit each other in the corner, back driver side and crinkled each other's bumper. The dents were exactly the same. So, I pull the car back into the spot and get out. It was about 95 degrees out and now, I'm pressed for time again. I'm thinking, "FUCK! I hope she's ok and doesn't want to file a police report! The first thing the lady says is, "I looked both ways and didn't see you". I said, "Yeah, me too! Are you alright? She said she was fine. I was completely composed and relaxed and 100% a gentleman even though I was anxious to just deal with this and get on with my passport mission. I said, "Let's just exchange info and we can decide whether we both want to handle it on our own or call insurance" ... to which she replied, "ok." Then, as I'm taking down her info she says, "You know it was your fault, right?" I laughed and said, "Lady, we already both agreed that we did the same exact thing. We both looked and didn't see each other and backed into each other. I'd say it's both of our faults." She said, "Ok, you're right." Now, obviously time was ticking and I still had to make it to the Passport office - so I finished up the info exchange quickly and said I'd call her after my appointment and we could figure out how to proceed. She was totally cool about it! I was seriously very nice to her from beginning to end regarding the whole thing and thought she was too. Got to the spot on Wilshire exactly 1:30pm. Filled everything out and was done by just after 2pm. I'll have my passport on Friday 9am. Yay! Mission accomplished! So, I get in my car and get on the phone with the lady and ask if she's ok. She says, "I'm fine how are you? I said, "I'm fine too. Just wanted to talk about we should proceed." She then says, "Well, as I was pulling out I saw you coming and hoped you would see me and then you hit me!" I said, "Wait a minute. At the scene you agreed that we both pulled out and didn't see each other. now you're claiming it was my fault? THAT'S just wrong! She said, "I already spoke to my insurance company and put in a claim." I said, "Ok, lady - have a nice day!" What a fuckin' lying bitch! Then I called my insurance company. They hooked me up with a body shop and rental car on the spot. I dropped off my car, picked up the rental. Turns out we both have Farmers Insurance. From what the claims adjuster said, if we're both found at fault my deductible will only be $500. If I'm found at fault, it will be $1K. Another day in the life!!!!!!! |
Interesting read.
At least you got your shit done. :P |
It's funny,
usually when I try to "explain" one of those days it makes zero sense to the other person. Really difficult getting all the variables down, nice job :) Blood gets hot, want to hurt every ignorant person you see. Take a xanax or a valium J Money and avoid driving the car into a crowd of people. |

I was going to stop reading at the "shave part" lol, seriously though, glad it worked out. I had something similar happen to me recently at the post office, I got out of the car fumming, then I see this little old lady get out of her car shaking, so I asked her if she was ok, she was, but worried about the damage on my car. I told her not to worry about it, btw there was no question who was at fault, my car was not moving. I love old people, we will all be there one day. well not all. |
I used to handle claims for a major insurance company. I've seen plenty of these accidents. Liability will probably be split, 50/50. I would just count on the $500 deductible.
Wise choice as well for you to allow them to hook you up with one of their preferred shops. Usually they have a list of preferred shops. And if a shop you choose is not on that list, then you would be fucked because the adjuster usually never pays the labor rates for the shop you might've chosen. example: dealerships. |
You should be fine. Specially as it is your word against her, and it took place in a parking lot.
|
It was probably your fault, lol
You were in a hurry right? lol |
I totally read all that

Crazy bitches J
You should come back with soft tissue damage in the neck. And also prove that you were both moving when collided and she admitted herself to seeing you and not even attempting to blow her horn whilst still moving and by her own fault, letting it happen. |
Plus - get her fucking costco card revoked!
