Apparently he was never taught good sportsmanship.

I just watched it about 6 times and when you first see it, it looks like he's pulling a dick move... but when I watched it again a few more times, I got to thinking he was already about to introduce Obama to his wife, and didn't really expect the hand... so he wasn't really looking for the hand. And so then he just said "Ahh, this is my wife" and totally blew the handshake accidentally.

Then again... I think McCain is a dimwit. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit. :2 cents:

i'd guess at this point they had already shaken hands, obama was in "shake hands/kiss babies" mode so when he got tapped he immediately had his hand out, to which mccain was like "no fool, i'm trying to introduce you to my wife". but i'd need to see it from the point of debate being over

I am for Obama 100% but 'McCaine' did not snub Obama here.

If you watched the debate you would have seen them exchanging handshakes and congratulations as soon as it finished.. Tom Brokaw had to ask them to move as they were blocking his teleprompter.

McCain was not expecting a second handshake. He was expecting Obama to shake hands with his wife, who was standing in between the two. Right after he 'snubs' him McCain explains with a smile what just happened.

No one, even McCain, is stupid to snub the opponent like this and lose credibility for such a petty thing.

lol obviously we didnt see the whole video, it cuts after McCain tells Obama to shake the lady's hand first.. which is funny... as Obama doesn't even hold the door open for 'ladies' I've read and yet another example where he treats them as dirt.

Not that I care if a man treats women as second class or anything, but for my President, I'd like someone with some kind of character.
