Rumors about Bank of America solvency (nice -26% today), the bank collapses (like Belgium's Fortis).

Next day, there is a limited bank run on BoA (like with UK's Northern Rock).

Even a limited bank run would be advertised in the media, extends to Citi and Chase. Stock markets would implode, banks freeze operations...etc.
