I was completely impressed with Obama?s command of the issues as well as his natural desire to put the American people first> He provided intellectual insight that showcased his superior intelligence and ability to think things through on each and every issue discussed during the debate.

Mccain finally exposed himself for what he is?. A bitter old man time warped in failed policies and aggression that have done nothing but bring our country down? Obama represents a new day in America and a new beginning? Mccain represents? a slow and painful death.

?? I don?t like pain

The mccain campaign is over.... if you are a republican.... it would be a waste of your time to vote for mccain on nov 4th.... stay home... save your self the humiliation

Vote Obama 2008!!!!

yah obama is a very good speaker and orator. he commands presence. mccain makes me want to help him to a chair when i see him standing up. obama has a much more positive image and i feel will best be received and repair the foreign relationships that 8 years of bush has damaged. foreigners from all over the world think we're idiots for electing that moron. so glad i didn't vote for him even if it matters or not.

Awesome debate??? That was a ridiculously boring debate no matter who won. Total waste of the townhall format. I'd have rather watched a replay of the VP debate.

Very Very true... what a lot of people do not realize is that if Mccaine were to win some kind of way... then America wiould lose are credit and respect in the eyes of the world

Actions speak louder tan words

This debate I decided to watch on cnn to watch their little graph of mens and womens reactions. One common theme was that when mccain tried the stuff about "surrender" and "raise taxes" and the typical negative ad stuff.. the reactions all went negative.

The format I didnt care for too much because it allowed one or the other to end with zingers knowing full well that the opponent was not able to respond. Hard to imagine them both agreeing to that format :( oh well.

What made it boring??

I think thats part of the problem... politics has never been a substitute for american idol... would you watch cspan all day??

but if you were looking for answers to some tough questions ... then yes this was an awesome debate

+1 ... kids are usually looking for some sort of American Idol in everything otherwise it is not appealing .... so it is natural that grown up issues seem "boring to them".... but thats just the way it is.....

This was a very nice debate... nice punches thrown and lots of substance .... :thumbsup

Yeah I am pretty sure this will go down in history as the final nail in the mccain campaign coffin

Time for a server (america) reboot

I would agree. That said Obama's only job was to express his position on key issues without fucking up. He did that. McCain came off as a condescending old man.

seeric 10-07-2008 08:28 PM

cnn has obama clearly winning the debate.

I watch about 5 hours of politcal shows everyday on top of the radio shows I listen too during the day while working.

This was boring because the questions were generic, the responses were the stump speeches, and there was little cross talk. Townhalls are good for outside the box questions which bring in unique answers and Tom Brokaw picked the safest questions possible.

danayster 10-07-2008 08:48 PM

Am I the only one that thinks they should retire Tom Brokaw and his mouth full of dentures.. You would think a man with so much money and exposure would seek alternate options.

Exactly right Axeman.

Anyone who says "X" won the debate on either side - well, it shows that you're going though life with blinders on and are suffering from tunnel vision.

There was no winner to tonight's debate only a clear loser - the American people from that travesty disguised as a "town hall" meeting.
