I was in a small town called Bothell, WA this weekend during my road trip, and stopped at a local Applebees (I know I know, it's all I could find)

There was a party of 14 old people, in the range of 50-90 years old (family outing I guess). One woman explained she was a politics teacher at the local high school.

An older man said "I don't see how anyone can vote for Obama. He killed thousands of people. Just because he shaved his beard and sounds like he speaks perfect English now isn't enough for me to vote for him. McCain will go kill him for us and get justice."

The table all agreed completely, that Barack Obama was actually Osama bin Laden.

No, I am not joking. That's how stupid Americans can be.

None of the above. It really did happen as I said and they are probably going to live to (and vote until) 2030.

It's stories like that that make me realize that future generations are destined for the unfortunate world that's in the movie "Idiocracy". It's a hilarious movie, but it's scary and disturbing as hell because it seems like that's what this country is heading towards. :(

If millions of stupid people will vote FOR Obama for the wrong reasons --I guess there is some poetic justice in there being other stupid people who will vote AGAINST him for the wrong reasons.

However, if I had my choice, I would want all people to be educated and all people to realize that socialism and big government are inherently bad ideas.

That movie is my bible. It's here already and has been for years, hence Mike Judge finally making the movie. He saw it coming and sees every day how it takes more of a stranglehold on us.

This is so sad to hear... but we all knew our country was dumb...well maybe not this dumb.

My wife is from Texas and we visit her grandfather often right in the middle every summer. You get a chance to hear about 10 of these type of remarks from people everyday... Costa Rica is looking pretty good to us right about now

My father goes to a local convenient store most evenings to sip coffee and chat with some other local ne'er-do-wells. Due to the up-coming election, the topic of abortion came up. He said he was amazed as two older women discussed how horrible abortion is and why they are against it. "They wait until the baby is born and then they crush its skull!" He tried to explain that it's a relatively simple procedure that takes place very early in the pregnancy, but they were so stupid, and so convinced by what had passed as truth to them for so long, that he couldn't make them understand.

It's fucking amazing how stupid people are and how happy they are with their ignorance.

Now here's the rub. A lot of these people would vote dem but they vote repub because of abortion. Now they been doing this since 1980( when the whole GOP anti-abortion combo really took off ) and so far there still is abortion despite the fact that republicans has been in the White House 20 of the last 28 years and they have nominated 7 of the 9 supreme court justices. So perhaps they need to find a different reason to vote because it seems the President has nothing to do with abortion either way. Nor should he.
